Attracting new investment and upgrading 8 agricultural and forestry product processing facilities

In 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment plans to attract new investment and upgrade 8 agricultural and forestry processing facilities associated with key products and potential products of the province.

The plan aims to develop the agricultural and forestry processing network in the province, while improving management capacity, production efficiency, enhancing product competitiveness, and orienting the consumption market for agricultural and forestry products of the province.

Specifically, the agricultural product processing industry will attract, upgrade and develop 4 processing facilities; the livestock and aquatic product processing industry will attract investment in building at least 1 small-scale centralized slaughterhouse, applying advanced and modern technology (carrying out meat, preserving meat and processing meat into products such as canned meat, bacon, ham, sausage, sausage, etc.) and upgrading the cold-water seafood processing line into ready-to-use food with high convenience in Sa Pa town.


For forest product processing, attract investment in 1 deep processing factory, wood refining, wood product manufacturing (with a capacity of more than 200,000 m3 / year) and 1 facility for purchasing and processing cinnamon products in the province; attract 1 factory/facility to extract raw white lac resin into benzoic with a capacity of more than 2,000 tons/year.

By 2025, investment will be attracted in a deep processing factory, refining wood products, helping to increase the value of forest products.

Agricultural and forestry product processing establishments are responsible for organizing raw material production, developing production, processing and consumption chains of agricultural products to ensure food safety, developing key and potential processed products of the province; investing in new and upgrading processing facilities for industries that do not have or lack capacity to meet market demand.

The establishments focus on modernizing technology, applying technical advances and advanced quality management systems to processing and preserving agricultural, forestry and aquatic products to create products with diverse types, low prices, high added value, ensuring food quality and safety, protecting the environment; improving competitiveness and international economic integration for agricultural processing enterprises in the direction of strengthening capacity, resources, and expanding domestic and foreign consumption markets.
