Best care for workers' lives
As an electronic components manufacturing and production enterprise that has been in operation since 2013, Goertek Vina Limited Liability Company (Que Vo Industrial Park) currently has 3 factories in Bac Ninh province, creating jobs for about 60,000 workers. Identifying workers as the greatest asset, for many years, the enterprise has always valued and made efforts to maintain stable employment; invested in improving the green, clean and safe factory environment. In particular, the salary, bonus and welfare policies for workers have been implemented by the Board of Directors and the Company's Trade Union, aiming to best care for workers' lives.

Specifically, from March 1 this year, the Company has applied a basic salary of 5.5 million VND/person/month - higher than the average of many manufacturing enterprises in the same field in the area. Each month, workers receive other allowances such as diligence (500,000 VND/person); efficiency (200,000 VND/person); housing (200,000 VND/person); gasoline (100,000 VND/person); seniority (from 100,000 VND - 1 million VND depending on working time)... If overtime is included, the total income of workers is from 10-14 million VND/person/month. With the characteristics of electronic component production, workers have to continuously work with small details, easily get tired, so for many years now, the Company has arranged areas for workers to take breaks between shifts. Mr. Pham Van Trung, Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, said: The number of workers of the Company is currently among the leading group in the province. Therefore, every year, the Company and the Union maintain many practical care activities such as: Union meals; Tet reunion; giving gifts to workers in difficult circumstances; organizing cultural, sports and sightseeing exchange programs; praising exemplary workers. From there, creating an atmosphere of production competition, workers are excited, assured of long-term commitment.
Of the total of more than 1,700 employees working at KD Sports Vietnam Limited Liability Company (Hiep Hoa commune), more than 80% are female. Grasping this reality, along with strictly complying with labor laws in general and female workers in particular, the Company applies many special policies for female workers. In addition to the child allowance of 20,000 VND/person added to the monthly income, pregnant women from the 5th month onwards are assigned to work in a separate department, with lighter work; when pregnant and raising children under 1 year old, they are allowed to rest 1 hour earlier and have a meal break 10 minutes earlier. Ms. Hoang Thi Ly (born in 1986), a worker at the Company, shared: “I have been with the company for nearly 11 years. In addition to jobs and guaranteed income, the company always cares about and builds a safe environment. Every year, on holidays and Tet, along with gifts from the Union, the Company also sets aside funds to reward and honor outstanding workers. The rewards are not only valuable in material terms but also a great source of encouragement for us to feel secure in our work.”
Increase benefits
From now until the end of the year, businesses in the province need to recruit about 45,000 workers; of which, the general level accounts for about 80%. It is forecasted that in 2026, businesses will need to fill about 150,000 vacant jobs. With such a large demand, while the supply is increasingly narrowing, businesses are determined to enter a fierce competition for human resources. According to Mr. Tran Van Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs: "Workers are invaluable assets of businesses because modern machinery and technology cannot completely replace humans. Therefore, ensuring jobs, income, and improving the lives of workers is not only a responsibility but also an important and sustainable solution to help businesses retain and attract human resources."
For example, at Luxshare-ICT Limited Liability Company (Quang Chau Industrial Park - Van Trung Industrial Park), in order to attract human resources, from March 1 this year, the Company increased the basic salary for workers from 5.1 million VND to 5.5 million VND/person/month. In addition to many allowances each month, workers who work 2 hours of overtime/day will be rewarded by the company with an additional 0.5 hour/day when calculating overtime pay at the end of the month. Currently, the average income of workers is from 9-12 million VND/person/month.
"Employees are invaluable assets of enterprises because modern machinery and technology cannot completely replace humans. Therefore, ensuring jobs, income, and improving the lives of employees is not only a responsibility but also an important and sustainable solution to help enterprises retain and attract human resources" - Mr. Tran Van Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs. |
Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy, Head of Recruitment Department, said: The company currently has about 50,000 employees; from now until the end of the year, it needs more than 10,000 people. To recruit enough, from July 1 to September 30, the company will reward new employees with 7 million VND. The bonus will be paid in 3 times, when the employee has worked for 30 days, 60 days and 90 days.
In the context of difficulty in recruiting personnel in the garment industry, Crystal Martin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Quang Chau Industrial Park) has also introduced many policies to attract workers such as: Increasing basic salary, bonuses for new workers, bonuses for referrals... In particular, workers starting work from July 1 to October 31 will enjoy the "loyalty" bonus policy. Accordingly, garment workers receive 4 million VND/person; other departments receive 3 million VND/person; bonuses are paid during the October salary payment period (November 10). From September 1, the Company's Board of Directors officially launched a new free shuttle bus route, supporting workers to travel conveniently, safely and cost-effectively (for workers renting accommodation less than 15km from the factory).
The most fundamental and long-term measure to minimize damage caused by labor disputes and limit collective work stoppages is to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations. This is also a measure to build a business's brand, create prestige with partners, and bring sustainable efficiency in production and business. To achieve that result, businesses must constantly improve social welfare. Mr. Thach Van Chung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation, emphasized that in the coming time, with the role of representing, protecting and caring for workers, the unit will actively coordinate with sectors and localities to inspect, supervise, promptly remind and handle businesses that violate labor law regulations; promote propaganda, encourage and replicate typical businesses "for workers".
