Le Van Nam (born in 2002) recently graduated as valedictorian of the International Law program at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam with a GPA of 3.86/4 and an IELTS score of 7.5.

With his outstanding academic achievements, the male student had the opportunity to choose from many promising jobs with attractive salaries. My dream is to become a police officer.

Nam grew up in a family with two brothers, his parents working as freelancers in Hanoi . Although no one in his family was in the police force, the image of a solemn soldier in uniform became a dream that stayed with him throughout his childhood and into adulthood.

In 2020, during the high school graduation exam for university entrance, Nam hesitated before deciding to apply to police academies. "At that time, I wasn't really confident in my abilities. The competition to get into police academies is fierce, and I was afraid of not passing, so I had to put my dream on hold," the 10X student said.

Later, the young man switched his focus and applied to the Diplomatic Academy, majoring in International Law, achieving a total score of 26.25 in Mathematics, Physics, and English.

Sharing his study methods, the top-scoring student summarized it in two words: "diligence and self-discipline." Nam said that first and foremost, he had to have a truly serious attitude, prioritizing his studies above all else. The important thing was to adhere to discipline in his studies and know how to allocate time effectively. In addition, he needed to maintain a relaxed mindset and be flexible between studying and resting to achieve the best results in all activities.

Volunteer to write an application to enlist in the army.

After graduating, Nam focused on preparing for the civil service exam, intending to apply to the Department of Law and International Treaties at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, at the end of 2024, upon learning that the Ministry of Public Security was recruiting citizens for military service, his childhood dream compelled the young man to do something about it.

"Initially, I was quite worried because my family didn't approve. However, after listening to my thoughts and wishes, my parents gave their full support," Nam said happily.

With encouragement from his family, Nam didn't hesitate to volunteer for military service and eagerly awaited his departure. After passing three rounds of preliminary selection, on the day he received his enlistment notice, Nam was overwhelmed with joy and happiness, finally able to fulfill his long-held dream.

Although he knew that the coming time in the military environment would be full of hardships, challenges, and the harsh sun and wind of the training ground, Nam remained optimistic, telling himself that he would do his best to overcome them.

"Serving in the military is both a responsibility and a source of pride for every citizen. With all my spirit, youthful energy, and desire to contribute, I am ready to embark on my duty. This is an opportunity for me to mature, hone my knowledge and skills, and improve my physical fitness so that I can dedicate myself fully to the Fatherland," the 10X student confided.

The young recruit confided that joining the military service is also the beginning of a new journey, a chance for him to strive to stay and work, contributing to the police force.

On February 13th, Nam will be enlisting to fulfill his mandatory service in the People's Public Security Force. Eagerly awaiting the day he can wear the uniform and perform his sacred duty to the Fatherland, the young man also remembers his father's parting words: "Your youth will be truly beautiful and memorable when you live and train in the police environment. Take care of your health, cultivate your morals, and excellently complete all tasks for the Fatherland. I hope you will achieve your dream of becoming a professional People's Public Security officer."
