Attending the meeting were leaders of units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade including: Department of European - American Market, Science and Technology, Planning - Finance, Departments: Electricity Regulation, Electricity and Renewable Energy and Industry.
At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai welcomed and acknowledged the results that the company has contributed to Vietnam's industry in recent times, highly appreciating that Intel's presence in Vietnam has helped attract investors to Vietnam in this field, thereby promoting Vietnam's participation in the global semiconductor supply chain.
For her part, Ms. Sarah Kemp - Vice President of Global International Government Relations updated the operation of the Factory and the Group in Vietnam, reported on the initiatives that Intel has applied to reduce electricity use at the factory, presented Intel's plans in the coming time, especially plans that can promote Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the Intel ecosystem and at the same time made specific proposals and requests for support to improve the operational efficiency of the Company and Intel Group in Vietnam.
Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai acknowledged Intel's proposal and said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will create the most favorable conditions for Intel to carry out investment and production activities in Vietnam on the basis of not violating regulations and international commitments and at the same time direct relevant units to report to the Government to resolve Intel's specific proposal. The Deputy Minister suggested that Intel should study and take advantage of the special incentives that the Vietnamese Government has given to technology and high-tech enterprises, especially those headquartered in the Industrial Park and High-Tech Park in Ho Chi Minh City, where there are special preferential policies in the above field.
