
Here, Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung highly appreciated the efforts of local authorities in responding to and handling the damage caused by floods. The Deputy Minister requested that localities immediately deploy plans to stabilize the situation; in which, focusing on solutions to ensure the safety of people's lives.
In the long term, Khe Sanh commune and Quang Tri province need to carefully survey the current situation, fully assess the developments to come up with sustainable solutions to the landslide situation. In case the damage exceeds the local capacity, the province needs to report to the Central Government for appropriate support plans. Localities need to check and grasp the actual situation to meet the minimum needs of the people; need to mobilize maximum forces and resources to overcome infrastructure damage.

In addition, for households that are borrowing capital from banks for production purposes, localities need to recommend that banks apply capital policies such as debt extension, debt forgiveness, interest rate and tax support, etc. to reduce the burden on people.
In order to respond to the landslide situation in Khe Sanh commune, the Deputy Minister requested Quang Tri province to consider declaring a state of emergency regarding natural disasters; at the same time, statistics on the demand for short-term crop and livestock varieties to propose to the Central Government for support and livelihood creation for affected households.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung and a working delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment visited, encouraged and presented gifts to 11 households affected by landslides in Khe Sanh commune.

According to the report of Khe Sanh Commune People's Committee, in the area, there is currently a house of Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Bang Trinh in block 3A whose back part collapsed; 10 surrounding households suffered landslides, sliding down to the foundation, forcing more than 40 people to urgently evacuate to the commune headquarters for temporary shelter.
According to statistics from the Quang Tri Province Civil Defense Command, the recent floods have left one person missing; nearly 70 hectares of crops and 10 hectares of perennial trees damaged; flooding in many low-lying areas with thousands of households flooded; and the landslide situation is complicated in many areas. As of the morning of November 19, the whole province still has 7 flooded and isolated points; 12 landslide points; and 2 schools in Vinh Dinh commune have students absent. In Quang Tri, since the beginning of the year, 152 landslide points have occurred, of which 34 are particularly dangerous.
