Prime Minister directs groundbreaking of Ho Tram - Long Thanh Airport expressway on September 2

According to the Prime Minister, the implementation of this expressway has strategic significance in developing foreign transport infrastructure, expanding urban space, creating momentum for socio -economic development in coastal areas and especially promoting tourism and international-class services. This is an important project contributing to realizing the goal of double-digit economic growth and effectively exploiting the marine economic potential of Xuyen Moc district and neighboring localities.

Ho Tram - Long Thanh Airport Expressway Route Map

The proposed Ho Tram urban expressway - Long Thanh airport is about 41km long, starting from the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 and ending from the Vung Tau - Binh Thuan coastal route. The project is completely new with a scale of 4 lanes (planned for 6 lanes), designed speed of 100 km/h. The total investment is estimated at about 17,000 billion VND, of which the cost of site clearance alone is about 4,500 billion VND.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister highly appreciated the positive results in socio-economic development of the province in recent times, with 6/14 targets reaching or exceeding the plan; total development investment capital increasing by 42.3%; attracting 11 FDI projects with a total capital of 317.4 million USD. However, he also noted that the province needs to continue to improve the remaining indicators such as GRDP not meeting expectations, low retail growth rate and international tourism development not commensurate with available potential.
