Prime Minister gives opinion on Thanh Long Lake tourist area project in Chi Linh

Accordingly, the planning of Hai Duong province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 and the adjustment of the planning of Chi Linh city to 2040 has oriented the development of Thanh Long lake area into an eco-tourism resort area. The Prime Minister has assigned the People's Committee of Hai Duong province and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate in establishing the planning task of preserving, restoring and renovating the special national relic Con Son - Kiep Bac. The People's Committee of Hai Duong province proactively coordinates with the People's Committee of Bac Giang province to fully absorb the opinions of the Ministries of Construction, Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Natural Resources and Environment to implement the necessary steps in accordance with the correct procedures and processes to invest and develop the Thanh Long lake area in accordance with regulations.

The Prime Minister agreed with the proposal of the People's Committee of Hai Duong province on the necessity of implementing the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 37 from National Highway 18 to An Linh Intersection. The project was approved by the Ministry of Transport in 2011. At the end of March 2023, the Prime Minister also assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to propose a capital allocation plan for implementation. The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Planning and Investment to urgently carry out the assigned tasks and report to the Prime Minister before March 30.

Previously, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province proposed and recommended the Prime Minister to assign the province to implement the above two projects. Thanh Long Lake is located in the center of the Con Son-Kiep Bac relic site. Previously, this area was the place where warships were gathered and the navy was trained by Saint Tran, and the logistics base of the Van Kiep headquarters. Currently, the lake belongs to the communes of Hung Dao, Le Loi (Chi Linh) and part of Dan Hoi commune, Luc Nam district (Bac Giang). The lake area is currently a wasteland, part of the area for single-crop rice cultivation is unstable, and the natural aquatic resources are assigned by the government to the people. The relic system here has seriously degraded, has not been restored or embellished for many years, and the natural landscape has not been planned, so exploitation is not effective.

The investment in the construction of Thanh Long Lake eco-tourism resort is very necessary to restore historical relics, restore rituals, craft villages, cultural values, etc. to enrich the value of the Con Son-Kiep Bac relic complex. The Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Prime Minister allow Hai Duong province to plan and implement the construction of Thanh Long Lake eco-tourism resort in the Con Son-Kiep Bac historical and cultural relic complex.

The renovation and upgrading of National Highway 37 from National Highway 18 to An Linh intersection to meet the synchronous traffic infrastructure with Dong Viet Bridge and the connecting road of National Highway 37 connecting Chi Linh City with Yen Dung District (Bac Giang). The Provincial People's Committee proposed to implement the project with central funding support combined with local budget.
