Prime Minister tells the story of meeting Dr. Klaus Schwab and establishing C4IR
"Dr. Klaus Schwab, Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, and I have met many times and asked what needs to be done for Vietnam that is practical, effective, and in line with Vietnam's conditions and the trend of the times?
Dr. Klaus Schwab suggested establishing a Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) as some countries have done.
This is the story that led to today, starting from the relationship between Vietnam and WEF; between me and the WEF president. Finally, it was concretized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ho Chi Minh City," said the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister welcomed Ho Chi Minh City for accepting the task and implementing it very quickly, actively, and timely. The Center of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution has 6 meanings. These are:
- Concretize and institutionalize the Party's guidelines and policies on the 4.0 industrial revolution set forth by the 13th Congress, Resolution 29 on continuing to promote the country's industrialization and modernization to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
- Meet the practical requirements of national development. Innovation and the 4.0 industrial revolution are objective requirements and strategic choices for national development in the new period.
- Deep integration in the fields of science and technology, innovation, especially participating in promoting the process of the 4.0 industrial revolution with the world.
- Demonstrate the pioneering role of Ho Chi Minh City as the economic, political, social, security and defense center of the country.
- Demonstrates Vietnam's aspiration and pride, ready to compete with all countries in the world in this field.
- Affirming the close relationship between Vietnam and WEF (World Economic Forum)
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the responsibility of the Government and ministries to orient policies and have priority policies for the development of this center.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai said that Ho Chi Minh City is committed to allocating available resources, founding enterprises, establishing an action framework and regulations, quickly closing the center's operations, and coordinating with WEF to have the first activities.
"The operation process will comply with the Prime Minister and ministries. We commit to the Prime Minister, WEF leaders, and Ho Chi Minh City to organize the most effective operation with the 20 words just assigned by the Prime Minister" - Mr. Phan Van Mai said.
