During his visit to Vietnam, Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his wife laid wreaths and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; and laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street (Ba Dinh, Hanoi ).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted the official welcoming ceremony, held talks and hosted a banquet for Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru. Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru expressed his joy at visiting Vietnam after 35 years and for the first time as Prime Minister, at a time when Vietnam is organizing activities to celebrate the April 30th anniversary. The Japanese Prime Minister expressed his admiration for President Ho Chi Minh and his impression of Vietnam's national liberation cause.
Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru thanked the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam for their warm sentiments and respectful and cordial reception; affirmed that Japan will continue to accompany Vietnam in the new era, supporting Vietnam in socio-economic development, building an independent and self-reliant economy, and industrializing and modernizing the country.
The leaders of the two countries expressed their delight at the comprehensive development of the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership after nearly two years of upgrading to a new framework. The two sides also discussed and reached many common perceptions on major directions and measures to bring the bilateral relationship to a new height, entering a new era under the motto of "sincerity, affection, trust, substance, efficiency, mutual benefit" in five areas, including political relations; economy, human resource connection; security - defense; science and technology, green transformation; cooperation at multilateral forums.
The two sides discussed and agreed to closely coordinate at regional and international forums such as the United Nations and ASEAN in the context of the rapidly changing and complex international situation, thereby making practical contributions to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

During the visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife had breakfast with Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his wife, enjoyed Vietnamese coffee and visited the Vietnam National Museum of History.
Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru visited Vietnam-Japan University, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, a symbol of cooperation between Vietnam and Japan; visited Thang Long Industrial Park, visited Canon Vietnam factory in the industrial park and met and discussed with representatives of Japanese enterprises.
Ms. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary To Lam, and Ms. Ishiba Yoshiko, wife of Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru, met and experienced making traditional Hanoi green rice cakes. Ms. Le Thi Bich Tran, wife of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Ms. Ishiba Yoshiko, wife of Japanese Prime Minister, visited the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism.
Ms. Ishiba Yoshiko, wife of the Prime Minister of Japan, visited the Vietnamese Women's Museum and a number of educational institutions with cooperation links with Japan in Hanoi.
The official visit to Vietnam by Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru ended successfully, opening a new development phase in the bilateral relationship towards closer and more effective development, meeting the interests of the two peoples, contributing to promoting cooperation and development in the region and the world./.
