On November 22, in Johannesburg, South Africa, on the occasion of attending the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had meetings and contacts with leaders of countries and international organizations.

Leaders of countries and international organizations have sent condolences and shared their deep understanding with the Vietnamese people over the loss of life and property in recent storms and floods.

Meeting with Brazilian President Lula da Silva, the two leaders expressed their delight at the strong development of Vietnam-Brazil relations since the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Strategic Partnership.

President Lula da Silva affirmed that he attaches special importance to relations with Vietnam, expressing his desire and determination to further deepen the Vietnam-Brazil Strategic Partnership, especially in the economic and trade fields. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh thanked President Lula da Silva for his special sentiments towards Vietnam and welcomed the Brazilian Government's decision to recognize Vietnam's market economy status.

The two leaders welcomed and agreed to further facilitate investment and trade, open markets for each other's agricultural products, and promote the early launch and completion of negotiations on the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Vietnam and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR).

The two leaders also agreed to strengthen agricultural cooperation, especially in coffee production and export.

At a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to strengthening friendship and cooperation with Türkiye.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan affirmed that Türkiye considers Vietnam an important partner in the Asian region.

The two leaders stressed that the two countries still have much potential to develop to new heights, and agreed to continue striving to soon achieve the bilateral trade target of 4 billion USD, while also studying the formation of new frameworks to further facilitate trade and investment, including promoting a free trade agreement between the two countries.

At the meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh once again congratulated Malaysia on successfully organizing the 47th ASEAN Summit.

The two leaders highly appreciated the efforts of the two countries' ministries and sectors in promptly implementing cooperation areas, contributing to deepening and substantiating the Vietnam-Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim supported Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's proposal that the two sides soon sign a cooperation document in the field of Halal industrial development and coordinate to effectively implement the Memorandum of Understanding on defense cooperation.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two sides strengthen maritime cooperation, coordinate closely, share timely and complete information on the issue of fishing vessels and fishermen, and treat humanely Vietnamese fishing vessels and fishermen arrested in Malaysian waters in a humanitarian spirit and in accordance with the Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

At the meeting with Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, the two leaders expressed their delight at the very effective and substantive results of the visit, opening a new phase for the relationship between the two countries; especially right after the talks between the two Prime Ministers in the capital Algiers, ministries, sectors and businesses of the two countries had many direct contacts and exchanges to promote cooperation potential.

The two Prime Ministers agreed that the two sides will immediately conduct research on a number of specific cooperation projects in the fields of agriculture and energy.

At the meeting with Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Rakan, the two sides expressed their delight at the strong development of bilateral relations with the historic milestone of upgrading to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during General Secretary To Lam's visit to Indonesia in March 2025, in which economic cooperation continues to be a bright spot.

The Indonesian Vice President agreed that the two sides should actively coordinate to build an Action Program to implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the 2025-2030 period and create conditions to open markets for goods and agricultural products of the two countries.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that the two countries strengthen cooperation in economics, trade, investment, agriculture and potential areas such as digital economy, green transformation, and energy, determined to soon bring bilateral trade turnover to the target of 18 billion USD.

The two leaders emphasized the need to work with ASEAN countries to promote multilateralism, cooperation, solidarity and ASEAN's central role, maintain and strengthen ASEAN's stance on the East Sea situation and international and regional issues of common concern.

At a meeting with World Bank President Ajay Banga, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that he always appreciates the active and effective support of the World Bank (WB) over the past time, affirming the determination of the Vietnamese Government in implementing the country's strategic development goals.

WB President Ajay Banga expressed his impression of Vietnam's economic development achievements, believed that Vietnam would achieve its growth target and affirmed to continue to support and advise Vietnam to ensure its goal of rapid and sustainable development.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the WB to support Vietnam with more resources to implement economic development programs, coordinate to promote large-scale projects that are meaningful in changing the situation in strategic infrastructure fields, respond to the impacts of climate change, and support Vietnam to successfully achieve its development goals.

The World Bank President expressed support for the Prime Minister's approach and proposal, agreeing that the two sides should discuss specific details as soon as possible.

At a meeting with WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam always supports an open, transparent, fair and rule-based multilateral trade system with the WTO playing a central role.

WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala praised Vietnam's economic development achievements and the measures Vietnam has implemented against trade protectionism trends, and welcomed Vietnam's continued support for the multilateral free trade system and WTO reform.
