On October 28, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a working session with Vietnamese Ambassadors to ASEAN countries with seas adjacent to Vietnam (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand) and the Head of the Vietnamese Delegation to ASEAN.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh listened to reports from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ambassadors on the local situation and cooperation results between Vietnam and relevant countries and within the ASEAN framework, especially economic, trade and investment cooperation, fisheries development cooperation, protection of fishermen and fishing vessels operating in sea areas, prevention of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and removal of the European Commission's (EC) yellow card on Vietnam's seafood exports.

According to the ambassadors' reports, the situation in the countries in the region has had certain fluctuations recently, but basically the cooperative relationship with Vietnam is stable. continue to be expanded and deepened, delegation exchange activities take place regularly, countries support and acknowledge the achievements that Vietnam has made in national development.
Coordination in handling complex issues such as citizen protection and preventing IUU fishing has made certain progress.
After listening to the report on the situation and results of work implementation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed and highly appreciated the results that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies have implemented in recent times, especially the successful organization of activities of the Vietnamese delegation within the framework of the ASEAN Summit in Malaysia.
Regarding key tasks to be carried out in the coming time, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to promote friendly relations in all aspects between Vietnam and partner countries in the region and within the ASEAN framework, affirming that this is a region of strategic importance to Vietnam.
The Prime Minister suggested turning good political relations into practical economic cooperation projects and programs; continuing to promote and propose initiatives on economic cooperation with other countries, expanding markets for Vietnamese goods, and especially making good use of the partnership that Vietnam has just upgraded with other countries.

The Prime Minister emphasized that representative agencies should continue to proactively follow up and effectively implement the work of protecting Vietnamese fishermen and fishing vessels operating in sea areas, actively cooperate in the fight against IUU fishing, and strengthen propaganda and information about Vietnam's viewpoints, goals, efforts and results in combating IUU fishing.
The Prime Minister also directed representative agencies to pay attention to caring for the Vietnamese community in the host country, especially in the context of complicated developments in the region regarding online fraud, forced labor, etc., in which the victims are Vietnamese citizens.
The Prime Minister noted that the ambassadors should successfully complete political and cultural diplomacy, citizen protection work, and more effectively carry out economic diplomacy, enhance their proactive spirit, sense of responsibility, determination, and creative measures in performing their duties, and promptly report back to the country any problems that need to be resolved.
