At the reception, Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized: Throughout the journey of establishing and developing diplomatic relations, the leaders and people of Vietnam and Japan have always strived to promote cooperation and have achieved many achievements in various fields. From political trust and cultural similarities, cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and tourism between the two countries has marked many outstanding results.

People-to-people exchange through tourism cooperation has developed strongly. Japan is currently among the top two markets with the largest number of visitors to Vietnam. In the opposite direction, the number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan has also increased steadily over the years. In the cultural field, the two countries have successfully organized many typical events such as Vietnam Day in Japan, Japan-Vietnam festivals in localities of Vietnam, art programs, cinema, film weeks, introduction of Japanese literature and children's books, etc., contributing to promoting the image, enhancing understanding and friendship between the people of the two countries. In the field of sports, Vietnam has received valuable support from Japan, especially a team of experienced coaches. Vietnam has also actively participated in tournaments organized by Japan, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and friendly cooperation.

The achieved results are an important premise for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Culture of Japan to continue to enhance substantive cooperation in the coming time, expanding to localities, encouraging provinces and cities of the two countries to strengthen direct cooperation, increasingly deepening it.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung affirmed that Vietnam always accompanies and supports Japan in organizing the World Exhibition EXPO 2025. As a responsible member, Vietnam has actively participated in many diverse activities; the number of visitors to the Vietnam Exhibition Hall at EXPO 2025 is large, contributing to spreading the image and good values of Vietnam to international friends. Thanking the Japanese side for agreeing in principle to the proposals related to the Vietnam National Day on September 9 at EXPO 2025, the Minister affirmed that he will coordinate in preparation with the spirit of solidarity, respect, and hospitality, and at the same time request the Japanese side to support visa issuance for Vietnamese officials, civil servants, and artists to attend the event.

Receiving and exchanging opinions on the target of 1 million tourists traveling between Vietnam and Japan, Minister Nguyen Van Hung proposed implementing creative solutions, in which localities with sister-country relations need to coordinate to promote communication and introduce destinations; Vietnam will promote Japanese destinations and hopes that Japan will also actively promote Vietnamese destinations. In the immediate future, the Minister suggested that Japan participate in the International Tourism Fair in Ho Chi Minh City, held from September 4 to 6, with booths and promotional cooperation activities.

Sharing information about the Vietnam Exhibition Center in Dong Anh (Hanoi), the venue for activities within the framework of the National Achievement Exhibition celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), Minister Nguyen Van Hung also expressed his desire to learn from Japan's experience in organizing EXPOs, hoping that this will be the venue for Vietnam to propose hosting an EXPO in the near future.
