Promoting connection of creative spaces

On the afternoon of May 6, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with the UNESCO Office in Vietnam to organize a meeting of Hanoi's creative cultural spaces.

Attending the meeting were leaders of the Department of Culture, representatives of the UNESCO Office and representatives of creative spaces in the area.

Hanoi is the city with the most creative spaces in the country. However, these creative spaces are still small and lack connectivity and mutual support.
With this meeting, the city officially called on creative cultural groups and organizations to register to become members of the Hanoi Creative Cultural Space Network.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Bach Lien Huong affirmed the efforts and importance of Hanoi's creative cultural communities and spaces. The persistent activities and meaningful projects of the creative community, the formation of creative spaces, and the cultural appearance of Hanoi are becoming more and more diverse.

The network of creative cultural spaces in the city will contribute to connecting creative cultural spaces; introducing, sharing, supporting the implementation of talent incubation, piloting ideas in the creative field, organizing seminars, training, supporting cooperation connections, etc.

Thereby, creating products of practical value to solve life problems, promote cultural industries, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the capital.

UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam Jonathan Baker commented that Hanoi's call for participation in the City's Network of Cultural and Creative Spaces is "an important move to connect, recognize and support the diverse creative actors who shape the city's culture every day".

At the meeting of Hanoi's creative cultural spaces, participants were particularly interested in cooperation opportunities as well as obligations and benefits when becoming members of the Hanoi Creative Cultural Space Network.

Representatives of creative cultural spaces visited indoor and outdoor event spaces of the Hanoi Creative Activities Coordination Center, discussed ideas and potential for future cooperation, and listened to the sharing of the Hanoi Creative Activities Coordination Center's operational plans.

The Center is an important coordinating agency assigned by the Department of Culture and Sports to the Hanoi Museum, with the function of promoting creative activities; connecting local and international creative resources; introducing, sharing, supporting the pilot implementation of ideas in the creative field, organizing seminars, training, supporting research cooperation connections, etc.

At the event, the application form for joining the Hanoi Creative Cultural Space Network was officially launched. It is expected that by the end of June, the city will announce and award Network membership certificates.

Upon becoming an official member, members of the Hanoi Creative Cultural Space Network will be registered to organize activities at the Creative Activities Coordination Center and the landscape area at the Hanoi Museum.

These spaces will enjoy preferential tax policies according to regulations; be supported in promoting the activities of the space on the official information channels of Hanoi - a creative city; be guided and supported in procedures for licensing events and advertising according to regulations...
