Attending the conference at the Hoa Binh province bridge were comrade Nguyen Van Chuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors.
At the conference, delegates listened to a report summarizing economic diplomacy in 2024 and the focus for 2025; discussions by ministries, branches, leaders of provinces and cities, heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, leaders of associations and enterprises. The conference unanimously assessed that the implementation of the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, economic diplomacy in 2024 has been promoted in a systematic, drastic and effective manner with many specific and practical results, creating breakthroughs. In exchanges and meetings with leaders of the Party, State, Government, leaders of international organizations and experts highly appreciated Vietnam's achievements in economic and social development, were impressed with the growth in 2024, appreciated the Government's macro management, determined to perfect institutions, promote innovation, considered Vietnam a model in cooperation and believed in Vietnam's economic development prospects. GDP growth in 2024 is expected to be around 6.8%; import and export will reach 782 billion USD, trade surplus will be 23.5 billion USD; foreign investment attraction will reach over 31 billion USD...
In 2024, Vietnam will renew its traditional growth drivers and promote new growth drivers. More than 170 cooperation agreements have been signed on the occasion of high-level activities. At the same time, it will promote market diversification and partner diversification, in addition to continuing to effectively exploit traditional markets and vigorously deploying in new and potential markets. Vietnam will promote its proactive role, actively participate and make substantial contributions at international and regional multilateral forums, contributing to enhancing the country's prestige and position, attracting resources for development; promote strategic advice and propose policies to serve economic and social management, closely following the country's development requirements... In addition, it will support localities and enterprises to expand international economic relations in the spirit of taking people, localities and enterprises as the center of service.
In his concluding remarks at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended and acknowledged the efforts and endeavors of ministries, branches, provinces, cities, heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, associations and enterprises in 2024, who achieved important foreign affairs results. Economic diplomacy to serve national development has been carried out with a determined and proactive spirit, opening up many new and breakthrough directions, achieving many important results, contributing more and more substantially and effectively to the implementation of socio-economic development goals.
The Prime Minister suggested that in 2025, focus on key tasks such as promoting economic diplomacy in high-level foreign affairs activities; more drastically, develop specific plans, establish exchange mechanisms with partners on promoting the implementation of high-level commitments and agreements that have been reached; create breakthroughs in economic, trade, investment, and labor relations, practically serving development goals. Strengthen new growth drivers, in which technology diplomacy, semiconductor diplomacy, and digital economic diplomacy are the focus, the breakthrough of new-age economic diplomacy; continue to focus on research and advisory work. For provinces and cities, it is necessary to closely follow the guiding viewpoints of the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in implementing foreign affairs, especially economic diplomacy in the area.
