Within the framework of the visit and work in the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan city of the Russian Federation from September 25 to 27, the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation led by Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi met and worked with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Kazan city on September 25.
Attending the meeting were Consul General of Vietnam in Ekaterinburg Nguyen Mai Huong, President of the Vietnamese Association in Kazan Dam Danh Lam and members of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Association in Kazan, along with a number of representatives of the community and outstanding Vietnamese students in Kazan.
At the meeting, reporting on the living, working and studying situation of the Vietnamese community in Kazan, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Kazan Dam Danh Lam said: The Vietnamese Association in Kazan was established in 2012 with the function of representing and protecting the rights of Vietnamese people, preserving and developing the Vietnamese language, culture and identity of Vietnamese people, as well as promoting people-to-people diplomacy activities. After more than 12 years of establishment, the Association now has about 700 members, mainly small traders and restaurant owners. Every year, the Vietnamese Association in Kazan city focuses on organizing a full range of events according to Vietnamese traditions and culture to attract community members to participate, increasing solidarity and cohesion in the community.
Regarding people-to-people diplomacy, the Vietnamese community in Kazan actively and effectively supports delegations from Vietnam to visit and work in Kazan city, contributing to strengthening and promoting relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. In addition, the Vietnamese Association in Kazan actively participates in local charity activities, as well as towards the homeland.
Recently, in response to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation, the Vietnamese community in Kazan raised 100 million VND to send to the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support people affected by storm No. 3 (international name: storm Yagi).
Speaking at the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Kazan city is one of the largest communities in the Russian Federation, second only to the capital Moscow; at the same time, he highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese Association here in leading and guiding Vietnamese people to do business and trade stably during the recent difficult times.
Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi informed the Vietnamese Association in Kazan city about the development situation in the country, as well as positive developments in Vietnam - Russian Federation relations since the beginning of 2023, after the COVID-19 pandemic.
In that situation, the Ambassador suggested that the Vietnamese Association in Kazan city further promote its position in the local society to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam through Vietnamese culture, traditions and cuisine .

The Ambassador also suggested that the Vietnamese Association and Vietnamese students studying in Kazan city actively participate in events organized by the local government, increase connections with Russian society, thereby increasing prestige and creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese people living and doing business in Kazan; at the same time, the Association should focus on teaching Vietnamese language, history and culture to the generation of Vietnamese people born and raised in Kazan.
On this occasion, the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation presented the Vietnamese Association and Vietnamese students studying in Kazan with a number of books and stories in Vietnamese to serve the development of the Vietnamese language.
Within the framework of this working trip, the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation will have working sessions with the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and the High-Tech City of Innopolis./.
