In the first 5 months of 2023, the total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated at VND 9,624.9 billion, up 21% over the same period in 2022.

Regarding import and export activities, export turnover in May 2023 is estimated at 78.6 million USD, up 7.2% over the previous month and 6.1% over the same period last year, with most major commodities increasing. In the first 5 months of 2023, export turnover is estimated at 426 million USD, down 3.3%.

On the other hand, import turnover in May 2023 is estimated at 21.3 million USD, down 12.3% compared to the previous month and down 11.2% compared to the same period last year. Accumulated in the first 5 months of 2023, import turnover is estimated at 90.3 million USD, down 25.6%.

Strengthening supply-demand connection, promoting trade of Dak Nong agricultural products

In recent times, the Dak Nong Industry and Trade sector has been actively promoting trade and connecting supply and demand of goods to expand the domestic and export markets. Thanks to that, the market situation of goods in the province has been ensured, meeting the needs of the people, without speculation, hoarding, or unreasonable price increases. Import and export have many bright spots.

For example, at the Coffee Specialized Exhibition Fair within the framework of the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival (Dak Lak) organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee in mid-March, Dak Nong had 7 participating enterprises. The enterprises brought to the fair products such as roasted coffee beans, ground coffee and instant coffee. These are products certified as typical rural industrial products; OCOP 3 stars or higher.

The fair is an opportunity for units and businesses to learn and exchange experiences in organizing and managing production, and to connect and find markets for their products. Businesses also find opportunities to seek orders from this major event.

This is one of the trade promotion events that Dak Nong Industry and Trade Department connects for businesses to participate in, in order to find opportunities for orders for businesses. Trade promotion not only helps promote the brand of goods, but also contributes to connecting and expanding the consumption market for local agricultural products.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade has submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval of the content of the organization of the implementation of the plan to export key goods of Dak Nong province in 2023; issued a Plan to convert the management, business and market exploitation model in the province. At the same time, it has implemented the construction of 01 Vietnamese Point of Sale called "Proud of Vietnamese Goods" in Tuy Duc district.

In 2023, the Provincial People's Committee approved 5 local trade promotion programs, with a total budget of 750 million VND. Including the Industry and Trade Conference and Conferences and Fairs of provinces and the Central - Central Highlands region in 2023 in Dak Nong. These activities will contribute to practically removing difficulties for enterprises' production and business, promoting the consumption of local agricultural products.

In the coming time, Dak Nong Department of Industry and Trade will continue to organize the implementation of the project to promote the consumption of goods with development advantages in mountainous, remote and isolated areas through the distribution system in the market.

In addition, organize a conference to promote international economic integration and some basic contents of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EVFTA), the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP). Issue a plan for e-commerce development in 2023.
