Standing Secretariat visits and presents gifts to flood victims in Hue

(Dan Tri) - On the afternoon of October 30, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu inspected the flood situation and visited patients, families and people affected by floods in Hue city.

In Hue city, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu inspected disaster response work, shared and encouraged people in flooded areas of Thanh Thuy ward.

Mr. Tu and his delegation also visited and gave gifts to patients and medical staff at Hue Central Hospital, which was flooded in recent days.

According to the Standing Secretariat, Hue is one of the localities experiencing heavy rain and floods, suffering heavy damage.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, he sent his warm regards and deep sympathy to the people in the flood-affected areas, and at the same time praised the spirit and responsibility of the entire political system in responding to and helping to minimize the damage caused by natural disasters.

He appreciated the officers and soldiers who did not fear danger to evacuate, help people, and provide food, medicine to deeply flooded and isolated areas.

The Standing Secretariat requested Hue city to focus on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and floods, with the top priority being to rescue people and ensure their safety.

Localities need to deploy all means and measures to search for and rescue missing people; immediately evacuate households in areas at risk of flash floods and landslides; absolutely not let any people be deprived, isolated, or not receive timely support.

Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu requested urgent restoration of essential infrastructure such as schools and medical facilities, care for and support for families of the dead and missing, and care for the injured.

On this occasion, the delegation visited the family of war invalid Vu Thi Hong Que, residing in Thuan Hoa ward, which was also affected by floods.
