Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Committee works with Helvetas organization in Vietnam

On the morning of October 16, Comrade Hoang Gia Long, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, worked with the delegation of Helvetas Organization in Vietnam on the implementation of the Swiss Tourism Project for Sustainable Development in Vietnam, including components implemented in Ha Giang province.

The Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development Project in Vietnam has 3 components, implemented in 3 provinces: Ha Giang, Quang Nam and Dong Thap. In Ha Giang province, the project implements 2 components: Component 1 - On public-private dialogue in sustainable tourism development, on supporting marketing of tourism destinations and Vietnam tourism development index; Component 3: Directly supporting a number of community tourism destinations following the sustainable development model; supporting the implementation of innovative ideas in sustainable development implemented at destinations. In recent times, natural disasters have affected and caused severe damage to the tourism sector and need attention, investment, and support to recover and stimulate demand. Ha Giang province proposed that Helvetas Organization support investment, repair, and renovation of a number of tourist destinations and community tourism cultural villages. In addition, support tourism promotion, advertising, and sustainable green tourism development. In particular, focusing on developing agricultural tourism products and tourism associated with nature reserves in the province.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Gia Long emphasized: Ha Giang has a lot of potential for tourism development and is spread evenly across all localities. Helvetas Organization is requested to pay attention to, expand the project, invest in and support the development of more green and sustainable community tourism cultural villages, focusing on developing tourism associated with environmental protection in the western districts and lowland areas such as Ha Giang city, Bac Me, Vi Xuyen, Bac Quang districts. Support the construction, development, and promotion of the province's OCOP products. Support the training of human resources, especially households and villages doing community tourism in a systematic, professional, and standard manner.

Agreeing with the province's proposal, the representative of Helvetas organization suggested adding some contents proposed by Ha Giang province right into the project being prepared for implementation in a flexible manner, reducing procedures but in accordance with regulations. Priority is given to urgent contents that need to be implemented first to submit to competent authorities for approval. Helvetas organization will devote the utmost attention and effort to support Ha Giang province in developing tourism for sustainable development.
