( Bqp.vn ) - On the afternoon of July 23, at the Memorial House of General Nguyen Chi Thanh (Thuy Phuong Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi City), Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, came to offer flowers and incense, respectfully commemorating the great merits and contributions of General Nguyen Chi Thanh, former Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024).

Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet offered incense in memory of General Nguyen Chi Thanh.

General Nguyen Chi Thanh (birth name Nguyen Vinh), born on January 1, 1914 in Niem Pho village, Quang Dien district, Thua Thien province (now Thua Thien Hue province). In 1934, he participated in the revolution in the Popular Front movement. In 1937, he joined the Indochinese Communist Party, holding the positions of Party Cell Secretary and Thua Thien Provincial Party Secretary. At the end of 1950, Nguyen Chi Thanh was appointed to the position of Chief of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army. At the 2nd National Party Congress (1951), he was elected to the Politburo. In 1959, he was awarded the rank of General. At the 3rd National Party Congress (1960), he continued to be elected to the Central Executive Committee, and was appointed to the Politburo and the Secretariat.

Offering incense to General Nguyen Chi Thanh, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions of General Nguyen Chi Thanh - a general of both military and political caliber; an outstanding son of the nation, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, a loyal and exemplary communist, a typical and outstanding senior leader of the Party and State, a shining and noble example of a cadre who devoted himself to serving the Fatherland and the People; who contributed to the development and building of the Vietnam People's Army to become increasingly stronger.

Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet visited and encouraged the family of General Nguyen Chi Thanh.

Before the spirit of General Nguyen Chi Thanh, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet and members of the delegation vowed to study and follow his shining example of revolutionary ethics, loyalty to the country, and filial piety to the people; continue to work hard, contribute, and build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modern Vietnam People's Army; and build an increasingly developed Vietnam.
