This morning (December 17), at Gia Lam Airport (Hanoi), the Ministry of National Defense organized a rehearsal for the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024. With a much larger scale and performance lineup than in 2022, this year's opening program will introduce many modern military equipment, affirming the strength of the Vietnam People's Army.

The highlight of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is the Opening Ceremony, conveying the message of "Peace - Cooperation - Development" from the host country Vietnam to international friends; introducing the cultural traditions imbued with national identity of Vietnam, enhancing the image, position and prestige of the country in the international arena; affirming the mettle and strength of the Vietnamese armed forces.

Many special performances took place at the Opening Ceremony such as the performance "Vietnamese Bamboo" performed by 500 special forces soldiers, the performance "Vietnam - Country - People with a medley of folk songs from the three regions from the Northwest, the Northern Delta to the Central Highlands", and song performances such as Hello Vietnam, Lac Hong Bloodline, Our Army - Heroic Army performed by the gun dance team of the Army Ceremonial Group, along with a male and female choir, a dance group and 200 soldiers.

Martial arts performances by special forces and police dogs also appeared at the opening ceremony of the program.

In particular, the Air Defense - Air Force used helicopters to fly in a 3-4-3 formation over the stage.

Along with that, SU-30MK2 fighter jets flying in a 3-4-3 formation will also fly over the opening ceremony grandstand area.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of National Defense, inspected the opening rehearsal of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.

Along with that, modern tank versions of the Vietnam People's Army will also be displayed at the exhibition such as T62A, T-95...

The R-17E surface-to-surface missile with a maximum range of 300km is displayed at the exhibition.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's exhibition is twice as large as the 2022 International Defense Exhibition, with 53 delegations from 36 countries and territories registering to participate. At the exhibition, Vietnam will promote and introduce its technological potential, weapons, and defense equipment produced in Vietnam.
