Progress of 2 highway projects through Can Tho city

Information from the Department of Construction of Can Tho City, the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project Phase 1, Component Project 2 section through Can Tho City has a total clearance area of ​​about 258.49 hectares. Up to now, the number of households that have handed over the land is 1,054/1,054 households, reaching 100%, equivalent to 37.42 km.

Of which, the main route has 1,015/1,015 households handing over the land, with about 240.11/240.11 hectares reaching 100%.

For the Rest Stop in Co Do district, about 39/39 households have handed over the site, reaching 100% (rest stop area is about 17.87 ha; length 0.849 km).

The investor has received 37.42 km from the localities.

Regarding the relocation of technical infrastructure works (high voltage power lines), the relocation is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.

Regarding construction, the Project has 5 packages (4 construction and installation packages and 1 traffic safety system construction and installation package). The total value of the 5 packages is 1,663,958/6,361,290 billion VND, reaching 26.16%.

Regarding the disbursement of the capital plan for 2024, up to now, 1,951.238/2,000 billion VND has been disbursed, reaching 97.56%; the remaining capital plan in 2024 is 48.717 billion VND. The disbursement of the capital plan for 2025 is 97.714/1,117 billion VND, reaching 8.75%; the remaining capital plan in 2025 is 1,019.386 billion VND.

According to plan, the project will be completed and put into operation in 2027.

For the North-South Eastern Expressway Project, phase 2021 - 2025, the Can Tho - Hau Giang section has a total length of the main route and IC2 Interchange of about 1.2 km, a total length of the expressway connecting route of about 9.2 km, a site clearance area of ​​54.3 ha (of which the IC2 Interchange area is about 29.7 ha), the number of affected households is 690 households, and the need for resettlement is 168 households (204 plots).

To date, the site clearance and waste removal within the expressway connection area (near the IC4 Intersection of National Highway 1) has been 100% completed. The My Thuan Project Management Board (investor) has agreed to accept the handover of the construction site.

According to plan, the project will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2025.

It is known that for the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project Phase 1, Component Project 2 section through Can Tho City, in the first months of this year, due to the continued difficulty in the source of sand for filling, the construction progress of the road section was affected. Therefore, the investor and contractor have shifted their focus to the construction of the bridge section to ensure the project progress, without having to pause to wait for the source of sand for filling.

Similarly, for the North-South Eastern Expressway Project in the 2021-2025 phase, Can Tho - Hau Giang section, due to some sand mines still having problems with exploitation procedures, the amount of sand brought to the project has not met the planned timeline. Therefore, the project's loading completion plan does not ensure the proposed progress.

The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project, Phase 1, Component 2 Project through Can Tho City, invested by the Can Tho City Construction Investment Project Management Board, has a total investment of 9,845 billion VND, implemented by the central and local budgets.

The North-South Expressway Eastern component project, phase 2021 - 2025, Can Tho City - Hau Giang section, invested by My Thuan Project Management Board, has a total investment of more than 10,370 billion VND and only 1 construction package.
