(ABO) On the morning of June 3, the Veterans Association of Tien Giang province held the 7th Executive Committee Meeting. The Association reviewed the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of 2025; summarized poverty reduction work in the period of 2021 - 2025 and summarized environmental protection activities in the period of 2023 - 2025.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the Association of War Veterans at all levels continued to promote the movement "War Veterans help each other reduce poverty and do good business "; mobilized the construction of 7 houses for War Veterans with housing difficulties, worth 670 million VND; War Veterans themselves built 2 houses meeting the "3 hard" standards, worth 555 million VND in total.
The Association coordinated with the Farmers' Association and the Agricultural Extension Center at the same level to organize 15 training courses for 520 War Veterans Association members on cultivation and animal husbandry techniques; introduced stable jobs to 82 War Veterans, former soldiers and their children.
Grassroots War Veterans Association members have played a core role in participating in movements and campaigns, especially in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

Over the past 5 years, poverty reduction has been one of the important contents in the Association's work and is the core activity of the emulation movement of war veterans helping each other reduce poverty and do good business.
The War Veterans Association at all levels in Tien Giang province has mobilized organizations, businesses and individuals to sponsor the construction of 324 gratitude houses and solidarity houses for members with housing difficulties, with a total value of nearly 14 billion VND.
Poor war veterans with poor household registration books are eligible to borrow money to build 35 houses according to Decision 167 of the Prime Minister ; mobilize organizations and individuals to support war veterans to repair 157 houses to meet the "3 hard" standards, worth more than 1.7 billion VND...

In early 2021, the province had 97 poor and 159 near-poor war veteran members. From 2021 to early 2025, due to adjustments to the new criteria, there were 9 more poor and 48 near-poor war veteran members. Currently, the provincial war veteran association has no more poor and near-poor households.
The war veterans who are businessmen have contributed over 19 billion VND to support the Fund for the Poor, donated houses of gratitude and comrades; built bridges, repaired roads, donated land; donated insurance books, savings books; organized free vocational training for poor households, contributing to the construction and development of new rural areas.

By the end of 2023, Tien Giang will complete the establishment of 1,004 Veterans Environmental Protection Clubs in hamlets and neighborhoods throughout the province. By June 2024, the Provincial Veterans Association has completed the implementation of 16 district-level Veterans Environmental Protection models. Up to now, the Provincial Veterans Association has implemented a model of veterans participating in environmental protection in each commune, ward, and town.
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Phan Hung Manh, Chairman of the Provincial Association of War Veterans, requested that the Associations at all levels continue to do a good job of grasping the thoughts and ideas of cadres, members and people, especially in the period of arranging administrative units at all levels and building a 2-level local government organization model.
In addition, continue to effectively implement emulation movements and models in the locality. In particular, the Association at all levels quickly completes the apparatus after the merger; is ready to take on new tasks after implementing the Project on rearranging the Fatherland Front agencies, socio-political organizations and mass organizations assigned by the Party and the State; ensures smooth, effective, efficient and uninterrupted operations during the transition process.
