Speaking at the conference, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh, Head of the Provincial Statistics Office, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee, emphasized: The 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census is of special importance, aiming to collect complete and accurate information on the current status of agricultural, forestry and fishery production; the socio -economic situation in rural areas; the structure of rural labor, thereby serving the management and policy making for sustainable agricultural and rural development.
Accordingly, the 2025 rural and agricultural census has many outstanding new features compared to previous surveys. Specifically, the Complete Household Voucher has added some detailed information on cultivation (ornamental plants: net houses, greenhouses, tree nurseries); aquaculture forms and farming methods (intensive, semi-intensive, extensive, improved extensive); digital economy in agriculture, forestry and fishery; agricultural services and income from agricultural, forestry and fishery activities.
Information on crops and livestock of households is asked based on reality instead of only collecting information on some main crops and livestock as was done before.
The sample household questionnaire has added new information on sustainable development indicators to serve the assessment of Vietnam's commitment to implementing the United Nations' sustainable development goals. The farm questionnaire requires questions about all crops, livestock, etc. of the farm instead of just asking about some main products as before; many questions are added to assess the efficiency of the farm's production activities.
