On the afternoon of May 19, Uncle Ho's birthday and also the last day of the photo exhibition "Bright Name of the People", many people, especially young people, still patiently lined up to visit and receive the special weekend issue.
This special newspaper has the same issue as the birth year of beloved Uncle Ho (1890), but above all, this is a newspaper with many classic articles and referenced documents. From more than 7 am, the line of people lining up to visit the exhibition and receive the newspaper stretched from Bao Khanh street to the headquarters of Nhan Dan Newspaper on Hoan Kiem Lake. Mr. Tran Tien (71 years old, living in Cho Hom) said that he had been queuing since 4am when it had not rained yet. But the sudden rain this morning forced him to go home to change clothes, and as soon as the rain stopped, he immediately returned to line up. "This time, I got a beautiful newspaper about Uncle Ho and will laminate it to hang on the wall as a souvenir. The other day, I also came here to line up to receive a special supplement to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day," Mr. Tran Tien happily boasted.

Also standing in line, Ms. Thu Phuong (62 years old, living on Hang Than street) shared: Uncle Ho is a great leader. Visiting this exhibition, in addition to seeing beautiful, realistic, and vivid photos of Uncle Ho, we were also eager to receive a special newspaper about Uncle Ho.
“Many people in my family participated in the war against both the French and the Americans. Some of my siblings also went to B and fought in the special forces during the war against the Americans. They thought they would die but miraculously survived and returned. We deeply understand the value and meaning of war and peace. Today’s miracle is thanks to the sacrifices and contributions of the previous generations. Currently, that tradition is still continued and nurtured…”, Ms. Thu Phuong said.

Ho Chi Minh is a rare historical phenomenon, a man who became a legend even when he was alive, the passage of time further honors his vitality and ideological stature. To celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), Nhan Dan Newspaper decided to publish a special issue with the theme "Ho Chi Minh's Thought: The Flame That Lights the Way" in the Nhan Dan Weekend Newspaper issue 20 (1890).
One of the highlights of the issue is the Supplement “Words of the People - Words of the Country”. It is a vivid manifesto of ideals, aspirations and civic responsibilities. Each immortal saying of President Ho Chi Minh is selected and presented in modern, close and accessible artistic language for young people, but still contains the stature of a nation, lessons about patriotism, the spirit of independence and the desire to rise up.
The image of Uncle Ho reading Nhan Dan Newspaper - an emotional painting by artist Ngoc Hung - along with the creative and sophisticated layout by artist Kim Duan and his team, not only highlights the beauty of his ideology but also spreads the light of his knowledge to readers today. On the supplement, there are QR codes leading to links to a selection of the 10 best and most touching songs about Uncle Ho and a page of profound and vivid information about Ho Chi Minh's life and ideology on Nhan Dan Newspaper's platforms.

Journalist Phan Thanh Phong said that the entire team of the People's Weekend publication took part in the project with a sense of urgency and responsibility. From the stage of drafting the outline, ordering articles from experts and researchers, to the reporters not being afraid of difficulties, traveling to all regions to collect documents, all had the same goal: to present a worthy publication to Uncle Ho.
“What makes us extremely touched is the warm welcome from readers. Images of people lining up in front of the newspaper headquarters waiting to get the newspaper, the shares on social networks, the compliments from readers... are priceless spiritual gifts for journalists like us. We feel recognized, motivated and above all, we are accompanying the people on the journey of spreading Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style,” said comrade Thanh Phong.

When asked about the memories of this special issue, comrade Phan Thanh Phong expressed: “Perhaps the most special memory is the moment we completed the art of the issue and suddenly discovered a shocking coincidence: The publication number of this publication is 1890 – the exact year of birth of President Ho Chi Minh. Everyone in the room was silent with emotion. It was like a spiritual response, a fortuitous encounter, making us appreciate the work we are doing even more.”
