(BLC) - Having been "living witnesses" to the fires of war, sparing no blood or sacrifice to win independence and freedom for the Fatherland, upon returning to ordinary life with its many ups and downs, the soldiers of Uncle Ho in Than Uyên have set themselves a new task: to pass on the revolutionary spirit to the younger generation.
Faced with the negative impacts of the market economy , a segment of young people are exhibiting a lack of ideals, a disregard for the law, and a gradual alienation from national cultural and revolutionary traditions. In light of this situation, revolutionary education for youth union members is extremely necessary. This task has been and continues to be a priority for the Than Uyên District Veterans Association, implemented through various forms and methods.

Officials from the Than Uyên District Veterans Association are disseminating legal education to the younger generation.
The District Veterans Association, in coordination with the Youth Union, schools, and grassroots organizations, organizes activities such as "Paying Gratitude," "Remembering Our Roots," and "Journeys to Historical Sites"; disseminating and educating on the law. Simultaneously, they share stories of tradition and facilitate interaction between historical witnesses and students, Youth Union members, and young people. These stories recount fierce battles, the heroic sacrifices of martyrs, and exemplary veterans.
The District Veterans Association has established a team of speakers, comprising dedicated military officers, to disseminate information and give talks to the younger generation for the deepest understanding. From 2017 to the present, the District Veterans Association has coordinated hundreds of traditional talks for over 30,000 students, youth union members, and veterans. This has contributed to fostering patriotism, national pride, and inspiring a spirit of initiative and volunteerism for the community among the younger generation.
In addition to providing traditional education for the younger generation, veteran families in the district always set a good example and take the lead in activities and emulation movements of the veterans' association and their local communities. They are committed to ensuring their children do not violate the law or engage in social vices, and actively participate in economic development and building happy families.

Upholding the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the veterans of Muong Than commune are always striving to develop the economy and rise to prosperity.
To date, the Than Uyên District Veterans Association has a total of 13 branches with 2,135 members. Pioneering in economic development and implementing the movements "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas," and "Exemplary veterans," the poverty rate among members has decreased from 11.2% (in 2017) to 4.75% (in 2023). 216 veteran households have been recognized for their excellent production and business achievements at various levels; member families have donated 5,000 square meters of land and over 3,000 man-days of labor to build social welfare projects.
Having survived the brutal years of war and returned to civilian life, the veterans of Than Uyên, with the dedication and responsibility of the older generation, are still contributing to educating the younger generation about life ideals; hoping to build a young generation that is both "red" (ideologically sound) and "expert" (professionally competent), worthy successors to the revolutionary tradition in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
