After nearly 2 years of construction, Quang Ha Secondary School has been put into use since this school year. Quang Ha Secondary School is one of four high-quality schools put into use in the new school year of the province.
With a total investment of nearly 200 billion VND, Quang Ha Secondary School is a modern, synchronous project, meeting national standard school standards. Quang Ha Secondary School has a large total construction area, including many main items: 4-storey theoretical learning building, with 30 modern classrooms, fully equipped with teaching equipment; 2 blocks of subject learning buildings, each block has 4 floors, serving specialized subjects such as: Information Technology, Foreign Languages, Natural Sciences , Music, Fine Arts...; 4-storey administrative house and library, arranged with offices, traditional rooms and spacious, comfortable library space; multi-purpose house with an area of over 600m², where physical, cultural and extracurricular activities take place.

In recent years, Quang Ninh has always prioritized allocating a significant amount of resources to invest in educational infrastructure for mountainous, border and island areas. In the period of 2021-2025, Quang Ninh has allocated more than 3,291 billion VND for education, training and vocational education, 2.3 times higher than the previous period. Of which, more than 2,626 billion VND is reserved for building and upgrading schools, especially in mountainous communes and ethnic minority areas. With this huge resource, up to now, all boarding and semi-boarding schools for ethnic minorities have been solidified, safe and convenient. The rate of national standard schools is 92.07%, the rate of solid classrooms is 95.8%. The rate of schools meeting national standards in difficult localities such as Ba Che, Ky Thuong, Luong Minh and Co To special zone... is 100%. Many schools were newly built, repaired and put into use such as: Ba Che Primary School, Tien Yen Secondary and High School, Quang La High School, Quang Ha High School, Dong Tien, Ba Che High School... This is not only a clear demonstration of the province's determination to care for ethnic minority, mountainous and border areas, but also to invest in future generations, considering education as the foundation for rapid and sustainable development.
Comprehensive care
In order to comprehensively care for education in ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island areas, Quang Ninh province has recently implemented many synchronous solutions.
In particular, taking care of boarding meals for students in ethnic minority areas is identified by the province as one of the important solutions to improve the physical and mental strength of the young generation, contributing to comprehensive education. According to the province's policy, boarding students are supported with 720,000 VND/month to help reduce the financial burden on families.
Quang Ninh also spends about 31.3 billion VND/year to support lunch money, summer school expenses, cooking for preschool children; support food money, care expenses for boarding students... in ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island areas. This policy has a positive impact on improving the quality of education in mountainous, border and island areas.
Since July 2023, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the Project on propaganda and mobilization to improve nutrition and physical strength for children in mountainous, ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Quang Ninh province, period 2022-2025. The Project is implemented in 64 communes in ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island areas. In particular, the province has set a target of reducing the rate of underweight children under 5 years old to below 11% and stunted children to below 17% by 2025.
Since the Project was launched, all levels, sectors and localities have been more active and synchronous in taking care of preschool children. For the Education and Training sector, the sector has directed preschool education facilities to pay attention to implementing good nutritional care for children, improving the quality of meals, ensuring balance, reasonableness, adequacy, ensuring food hygiene and safety, and increasing physical activities for children at school.
On that basis, educational institutions constantly improve the quality of meals, diversify rations, strengthen nutrition education, and mobilize social resources to improve meals for students. On the other hand, nutrition communication activities, connecting with philanthropists, and encouraging parents to send their children to school regularly are also implemented synchronously.
Caring for and providing boarding meals not only ensures the physical health of ethnic minority children but is also an important solution to narrow the educational gap between mountainous and lowland areas, gradually realizing the province's sustainable development goals in the new period.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Nguyet, Principal of Quang Thinh Kindergarten, Quang Duc Commune, said: Along with the province's attention, to improve the quality of care, ensure nutrition, and do a good job of education, the school has maintained the calculation of food portions for children on software, ensuring a balance of nutrients; strictly implementing the processing process to ensure food hygiene and safety; mobilizing social resources to improve meals for children. In particular, 100% of children receive regular health check-ups, health monitoring on growth charts, ensuring comprehensive development.
Besides, the province and the education sector always pay close attention to and direct the universalization of education. In particular, in order to improve the quality of key education, as well as promptly reward, encourage and motivate students in ethnic minority, mountainous and border areas with excellent achievements, the Provincial People's Council has Issue Resolution 63/2021/NQ-HDND Regulations on reward and support policies for training excellent students of Quang Ninh province and some preferential policies for students of specialized schools from the 2021-2022 school year to the 2025-2026 school year. Provincial level will be rewarded from 500,000 VND to 2 million VND, national level from 20-50 million VND, international regional level from 100-500 million VND, international level from 200-700 million VND. Prize-winning students who are ethnic minorities in communes, villages, and hamlets in ethnic minority, mountainous, border, and island areas will receive a reward equal to 1.5 times the above reward level.

Every year, the province issues policies to supplement the payroll and labor contracts for public preschool and general education units to gradually resolve difficulties in the teaching staff.
