Surprising revelations about the daily life of the famous shark.
Báo Thanh niên•17/03/2024
Despite his busy schedule, Shark Le Hung Anh, a young shark from Quang Nam province, took the time to chat with a Thanh Nien reporter about many interesting topics.
"Doing business involves many things, which is a headache, so I sing for fun."
Not only are you famous for your role on Shark Tank Vietnam, but the online community also often sees you releasing music videos on YouTube. It seems you love singing? I really do love singing. How should I put it? I'm in business, and there are many things that are... stressful. So I sing for fun. Occasionally, I "pretend" to make a music video and post it online. How would you rate your singing ability? Probably only... 2 or 3 points. The score might be low, but I have confidence, right? That's true. I don't sing just to please the audience. What's important is that I enjoy it. But honestly, I'm still not very satisfied. Because I realize I haven't reached the level of quality or excellence. In general, I lack the musical elements because I don't have the time. Recording is extremely difficult. People sing a song and record in just a few tens of minutes, half an hour. I "work" for 2 or 3 hours. Recording and editing constantly.
Shark Lê Hùng Anh likes to sing, so he keeps releasing music videos.

I've seen you sing all sorts of songs, like "Rainy Night in a Small Town," "Town at Night," "Never Forget You," "The Story of the Woman Who Knits," "Nameless Tear of Sadness"... So, what are your favorite songs? I don't have any favorite songs. I just sing whichever song feels familiar. So, what genres are you good at? Bolero, sentimental songs, and folk music.
Shark Lê Hùng Anh said that each recording session takes 2 or 3 hours, requiring constant adjustments.

"I keep failing..."
Many people are impressed with his voice. His Quang Nam accent sounds very endearing. He even said he's proud of his hometown accent. But some young people feel insecure about their accent. They're afraid of being judged because of it. What do you think about this? There's nothing to be ashamed of about having a strong regional accent. If you're born with your mother tongue, why be insecure and consider it an "obstacle," afraid of being judged by others? How can you speak if you're insecure? Don't be insecure. The important thing is to speak clearly and understand people. Why would you change your voice? Changing your accent doesn't increase your chances of success. Going back to the title "shark," there are questions about your life as a shark on Shark Tank Vietnam. Is your life the same as everyone else's? I'm just like everyone else. I eat, sleep, and rest normally. I also eat street food. We also eat home-cooked meals prepared by our wives and mothers… nothing else at all.
Shark Lê Hùng Anh frequently posts photos of his daily life on his personal Facebook page.

What do you dream of in this life? To be honest, I don't know what I dream of anymore. My life just goes on steadily day by day. I just strive and try my best. If you talk about dreams, you can have anything. But the important thing is whether you can achieve and fulfill those dreams. I'm afraid that if I say I want to do something and can't, it will be embarrassing and I'll lose credibility. Howwould you define "happiness"? That's a difficult question. I'm stumped; I can't say. And what about "success"? In my opinion, success is when you feel at peace in life. You have food, clothes, and opportunities to hang out with friends. You find people who are sincere with you. You live happily, comfortably, and sleep well at night. For me, that's success. With that perspective, have you achieved success yet? I haven't achieved success yet. It's not that easy! I'm still a long way from being a successful person.
The young shark admitted to having failed many times.

Have you ever failed? Yes, of course! I've failed many times. I've gone through ups and downs many times. I'm also kind of "clueless," so I keep making mistakes (laughs). After those failures, what lessons did you learn? Life in general, and entrepreneurship in particular, isn't like buying a lottery ticket and winning the jackpot, instantly changing your life. Everything has its price. I think that everything involves struggle and failure to gain experience and valuable lessons that lead to success. You need to be slow, calm, and sure about every step of the way. In the Shark Tank Vietnam program, I saw instances of "closing deals" worth millions of USD. Many young people then dream about that huge sum. Sir, is it difficult to have the opportunity to reach that number? Looking at the millions of USD figure, it's true that young people yearn for it. But achieving that amount is a difficult and complicated journey. I'm not referring to exceptionally talented, intelligent, or privileged individuals, or those who inherited fortunes… But for the vast majority, generally speaking, if starting from nothing, from an ordinary family, creating assets worth millions of USD—such a huge sum of money—is a miracle. Because when starting a business, just ensuring its survival and survival in the market is already a great achievement. For example, if a company's revenue is 100 million VND per month, and after paying employee salaries it breaks even, that's already a success. Don't even think about making billions or tens of billions of VND in profit a year; that's a very distant dream. It requires immense hard work and perseverance to achieve.
Shark Lê Hùng Anh said he recently climbed Mount Ngọc Linh in his hometown in Quảng Nam province before the 2024 Lunar New Year.

What are your expectations for 2024? Given the challenging economic situation, I think ensuring employment for everyone and achieving a growth rate of 20-30% per year would be ideal. I'm also trying to increase the income of my staff and employees. I'm also striving to develop and improve the quality of our products and services. Demanding too much, dreaming too big, and expecting too much might not be achievable. Besides that, I'll try my best to contribute whatever I can to my homeland. Thank you for this interesting conversation!
