Mr. Nguyen Quoc Manh, Deputy Director of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, spoke at the workshop. |
Dak Lak currently has more than 1.36 million hectares of agricultural land, of which over 843,000 hectares are under effective cultivation. The province has favorable conditions for the development of a variety of long-term industrial crops (coffee, pepper, cocoa, rubber, macadamia); fruit trees (durian, avocado, longan); short-term crops (rice, corn, vegetables, sugarcane, cassava); medicinal plants and high-tech agricultural models.
Despite many advantages, the agricultural sector is facing major challenges such as: complex climate change; fluctuating natural resources; increasingly strict market demands on quality and traceability... This requires the transition to green, clean, circular agriculture to no longer be an option but a mandatory path for sustainable development and increasing the value of agricultural products.
Ms. Dang Thi Thuy, Deputy Director of Dak Lak Department of Agriculture and Environment, chaired the discussion session. |
Currently, Vietnam has issued many important strategies and projects such as: Strategy for sustainable agricultural and rural development for the period 2021-2030, vision 2050; decisions of the Government, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on developing production and use of organic fertilizers; Integrated Plant Health Management (IPHM); Improving soil health and plant nutrient management. These orientations are important foundations for Dak Lak to transform agricultural production towards green - clean - sustainable direction.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Manh, Deputy Director of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, emphasized: with natural advantages, resources and appropriate policy orientation, Dak Lak has many opportunities to become the center of green agricultural production of the country, contributing to the implementation of sustainable development goals, emission reduction and climate change adaptation.
Representative of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Dak Lak province reported the discussion. |
In the coming time, specialized agencies and local authorities need to continue to closely coordinate with businesses to build more organic production models, reduce emissions and replicate them in many localities; issue sustainable production processes for each type of key export crop; test organic and biological fertilizer products suitable for durian and other crops for widespread application in production, avoiding farmers using fake and poor quality products...
