Searching for excellent journalistic works for the development of Vietnamese Culture

The award is held to honor authors or groups of authors with outstanding journalistic works on culture, information, family, sports and tourism.

On July 24, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a press conference to announce the rules of the 3rd National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture".

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, this year's Award has many new features.

Specifically, the Third National Press Award “For the Development of Vietnamese Culture” has added content groups related to journalism, publishing, cyberspace, foreign culture and electronic information under the new management of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism . These are also new contents that the Regulations of the First and Second National Press Award “For the Development of Culture, Sports and Tourism ” did not have.

Previously, on July 3, 2025, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh signed Decision No. 2312/QD-BVHTTDL to change the name of the National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism" to the National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" - placing culture as a prism to reflect all areas of society.

The works are selected and awarded to authors or groups of authors, excellent journalistic works, reflecting real people, real events, having the nature of discovery, accurately and promptly reflecting on collectives, individuals, positive actions, typical advances, criticizing bad habits and vices in society... with one of the following key contents:

Work on building and perfecting institutions, mechanisms and policies in the direction of "creating" and "unleashing" resources for the development of Culture, Sports and Tourism, especially the Master Program for the development of Vietnamese culture for the period 2023-2025; National target program on cultural development for the period 2025-2035. Planning the network of cultural and sports facilities and the Planning of the tourism system for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045; Strategy for the development of physical training and sports in Vietnam to 2030, with a vision to 2045; Strategy for the development of Vietnamese families to 2030; Law on Cultural Heritage (amended).

Building Vietnamese people in the period of innovation, development and integration with standard and appropriate values, associated with preserving and promoting Vietnamese family values, cultural values, and national values; skillfully combining traditional values with contemporary values; Preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, absorbing the quintessence of human culture, while improving the quality and effectiveness of creating new cultural values. Building a healthy and civilized cultural environment associated with the uncompromising fight against evil, badness, unculture, and counterculture; protecting the values of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Strategy for the development of cultural industries to 2030, vision to 2045; exploitation and enforcement of copyright in cyberspace; Promoting the development and deployment of artificial intelligence applications in the development of digital cultural industries. Protection, management and promotion of cultural heritage values in all fields.

Achievements and lessons for Vietnamese sports to reach new heights; enhance the role and awareness of physical education and sports among all classes of people. Outstanding marks of Vietnamese tourism; enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese tourism, develop tourism into a key economic sector. Education and building family culture in the modern era; preserve and promote traditional values of Vietnamese families.

Point out difficulties, obstacles and shortcomings, thereby proposing innovative solutions to improve effectiveness and efficiency in consulting, state management and organizing activities to develop culture, information, sports and tourism from the central to local levels.

The journalism genres considered for awards are journalistic works of reflection, reportage, investigation, documentary, memoir, talk show (except live radio and television programs)... on culture, information, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast for the first time in the following types of press: Print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, photo newspapers from June 16, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

The Organizing Committee will award 1 collective prize worth 20 million VND. Along with that are individual prizes with the First prize worth 30 million VND along with Second, Third and Encouragement prizes./.

Applications for the Third National Press Award "For the Development of Vietnamese Culture" should be submitted directly or sent by post to the Award's Standing Office - Culture Newspaper, No. 33, Lane 294/2, Kim Ma Street, Ngoc Ha Ward, Hanoi.
