That was the information shared by Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long at the 6-month review conference of the Ministry of Science and Technology on July 14.

According to Mr. Long, the ministry aims to "license and pilot controlled telecommunications services using low-orbit satellites immediately after businesses complete investment procedures and establish legal entities in Vietnam, with the goal of licensed businesses being able to officially deploy services in the fourth quarter of 2025."

Previously, the Government issued a decision allowing SpaceX, the company founded by American billionaire Elon Musk, to conduct a controlled pilot to deploy telecommunications services using Starlink low-orbit satellite technology.

Accordingly, the deployment of additional services will support broadband Internet coverage in remote areas where ground infrastructure is lacking or difficult to access.

Currently, SpaceX Corporation is working with the Ministry of Finance to carry out procedures to establish a 100% foreign-owned enterprise in Vietnam.

Last September, Mr. Tim Hughes, senior vice president of SpaceX, gave a positive assessment of Vietnam's potential for SpaceX's satellite internet development plan.

The senior leader of SpaceX Corporation also revealed plans to invest 1.5 billion USD in Vietnam in the near future.

Foreign investors net bought nearly 12,000 billion VND

In the trading session on July 14, foreign investors continued to maintain their net buying streak for the 9th consecutive session. However, the disbursement scale in this session has significantly narrowed compared to previous sessions, to only 54 billion VND.

Since the beginning of July, foreign investors have net bought nearly 12,000 billion VND in the Vietnamese stock market.

Top 5 stocks that foreign investors "collected" the most include: SSI (+2,676 billion VND), FPT (+1,237 billion VND), SHB (+1,041 billion VND), VPB (+772 billion VND), VIX (+566 billion VND).

On the contrary, foreign investors strongly sold the following codes: GEX (-425 billion VND), VJC (-309 billion VND, ACV (-207 billion VND), HDG (-190 billion VND), PVS (-177 billion VND).

Thus, after nearly 7 months, foreign investors have returned to net buying for nearly 2 months, which were May and the first half of July. Thanks to that, the total net withdrawal value since the beginning of the year until now of this group is less than 30,000 billion VND.

105,500 billion VND has just been borrowed through corporate bond channel

According to Fiinratings, the scale of corporate bond issuance in June continued to increase sharply, reaching VND105,500 billion, up more than 52% compared to the previous month. Of which, 100% were private issuances.

In the first 6 months of the year, the market's issuance value reached VND248,600 billion, up 71.2% over the same period last year, with 76.3% of the issuance value coming from credit institutions.

Thus, at this rate, this year the total value mobilized through the corporate bond channel will reach over half a million billion VND - just less than the peak year of 2021 with over 700,000 billion VND mobilized through this capital channel.

However, Fiinratings said that in terms of issuance structure, bank bonds account for the majority with 76.3% of the total issuance value in the first half of 2025, or VND 189,700 billion.

"The context of high credit growth forces commercial banks to increase the issuance of Tier 2 capital through this bond channel. The reason is that deposit mobilization growth has slowed down partly due to the policy of keeping deposit interest rates low while banks still have to maintain the LDR ratio and short-term capital utilization coefficient for medium- and long-term loans," said Fiinratings.

Of the remaining 23.7% of the mobilized value, equivalent to about VND58,900 billion, real estate bonds account for about 67.3%. This is understandable in the context of many projects having their legal issues resolved, making access to credit and mobilization through corporate bonds more feasible.
