On October 20, many Canva users in Vietnam reported that they could not use this design platform to serve communication campaigns to celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day.
The incident occurred on a large scale, affecting both the web and mobile applications, causing millions of accounts, from free to paid, to "freeze".

Many Canva users have reported being unable to work with the platform. They can log in to their accounts but their designs are stuck, and they keep getting messages like “Unable to save design” or “Site is overloaded” even after trying to log out and log back in.
Anh Duong, 22, who works in communications in Hanoi , said Canva is the main tool in her daily work: “Canva helps shorten design time thanks to the ability to quickly manipulate and share immediately with colleagues for approval or editing.”
Duong also said that this incident caused the entire process to break down: “I was forced to switch to alternative software like Photoshop, but the operations were more complicated and it was impossible to collaborate quickly. The uploading of articles was slow, directly affecting the project's progress.”
Not only designers or marketers, users in the education industry are also affected.
Linh Nguyen, 22, an English teaching intern at Ha Trung Secondary School, said she was preparing a lesson when Canva stopped working.
“As planned, the next morning I needed to present visual content to students using slides. But because Canva suddenly crashed, all the unfinished files were inaccessible.”

She said she had to “sprint with other software,” even though many of the layouts and images were only available on Canva.
This issue occurs on both the web and mobile versions. Not only free users but also Pro account users are experiencing the error.
The keyword “Canva down” quickly climbed to the top of searches and appeared on technology, design and marketing forums.
Vietnam is one of the markets with the largest number of Canva users with high design demand in many fields from media, education to commerce.
The platform's failure on a peak day like October 20 shows the heavy dependence on platform services and is also a reminder of the importance of backing up data and preparing alternative plans.
According to the latest update on the afternoon of October 20, some users said they were able to log in and work again on Canva, although there was still a phenomenon of slow response in some functions.
