At the reception, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Minh said that with an open and attractive investment environment, in recent years Binh Duong has always been one of the leading provinces and cities in the country in attracting foreign direct investment.

Overview of the reception

Accumulated to December 15, 2024, the whole province has 4,390 foreign investment projects with a total registered capital of over 42 billion USD. Binh Duong currently ranks 2nd in the country in attracting foreign investment capital, only after Ho Chi Minh City.

Japan currently ranks 2nd among 65 countries and territories with investment projects in Binh Duong with a total capital of nearly 6 billion USD. The main investment areas are the production of electronic components, electronic circuits and chips, automobile assembly, iron and steel, supporting industries, trade services, etc.

Mr. Yoshii Konosuke said that IHI is a Japanese Heavy Industry Group with a history of more than 170 years of multi-field development with pillars including energy - environment, infrastructure construction, industrial equipment and aerospace - defense. In Vietnam, IHI has been participating in a series of large infrastructure projects in Vietnam, such as the construction projects of Nhat Tan Bridge (Hanoi), Binh Bridge (Hai Phong), the renovation of the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway system, and the Van Phong 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant project (Khanh Hoa).

In recent times, IHI Group has proactively studied the current situation and highly appreciated the economic development potential of Binh Duong province. The Group wishes to participate in the dynamic development process of the province, focusing on the fields of transport infrastructure, high technology, and green industry associated with the development orientation of the province.
