The first province in the North announced the third exam subject for grade 10 in 2025

(Dan Tri) - English will become the third subject for the 10th grade entrance exam in Hai Duong province in 2025.

The Departmentof Education and Training (DET) of Hai Duong province has just announced the third subject of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, this province has chosen English as the subject. In recent years, Hai Duong has reduced the number of subjects for the 10th grade entrance exam from 4 to 3, including math, literature, and English.

Therefore, the upcoming 10th grade exam will basically keep the same number of subjects as previous years.

Hai Duong is also the first province in the North to announce a third exam subject for grade 10.

Previously, Vinh Phuc announced the scope of knowledge and sample questions for the combined exam for grade 10. Last year, the province tested three subjects: math, literature, and a combined exam including knowledge of natural sciences, social sciences, and foreign languages. Vinh Phuc has not yet announced the duration of the third exam.

In the Southern region, Ho Chi Minh City is the first locality to announce a third exam subject. English is also the subject that Ho Chi Minh City chooses.

On January 8, the Ministry of Education and Training announced Circular 30 on the regulations for secondary and high school admissions. Accordingly, the entrance exam for grade 10 from 2025 will be unified nationwide in the method of examination. Students will take two subjects: math, literature and a third subject.

The third subject can be an independent subject or a combined exam. In case provinces choose an independent subject, this choice must ensure that no subject is taken for more than 3 consecutive years.

Recently, the Ministry issued an official dispatch requesting the Departments of Education and Training to urgently organize the selection and early announcement of the third subject or exam according to regulations to facilitate students in completing the program and reviewing, preparing well for the conditions, creating a mindset of readiness to take the exam and achieving good results.
