DTO - Agricultural production activities in April in the province proceeded as planned. Agricultural and aquatic production remained stable.

Winter-spring rice reached the planned area and yield, high-quality rice output continued to expand, contributing to increasing added value. By April 15, 100% of the 2024-2025 winter-spring rice area had been harvested, with an average yield of 72.91 quintals/ha. The 2025 summer-autumn rice crop was planted on 150,498ha (an increase of 60,878ha compared to the previous month), with rice mainly in the seedling - heading stage.

The estimated production cost is 3,699 VND/kg (an increase of 204 VND/kg compared to the same period in 2024), the average profit is 20.9 million VND/ha (a decrease of 9.7 million VND/ha) compared to the same period. Regarding rice consumption, compared to the previous month, the selling price of IR50404 regular rice increased slightly, the price of high-quality rice and glutinous rice is stable.

For short-term industrial crops in the 2025 winter-spring crop, 100% of the area has been harvested. In the summer-autumn crop, 8,353 hectares were planted, reaching 64.25% of the plan, an increase of 3,762 hectares compared to the previous month. The lotus growing area in 2025 reached 560 hectares, with an average production cost of VND 9,204/kg (an increase of VND 276/kg compared to the same period); the selling price increased by VND 14,000/kg compared to the same period; the average profit increased by VND 54 million/ha compared to the same period. The estimated output of mirror lotus is 3,140 tons, equivalent to 1,046 tons of silk lotus.

The total area of ​​fruit trees in the province is 44,940 hectares, an increase of 102 hectares compared to the previous month. The selling price fluctuates on some key fruit products due to changes in market demand. Compared to the same period in 2024, the selling price of fruits increased and decreased depending on the type, the cost increased from 547 - 4,812 VND/kg. According to statistics, the total mango growing area is 14,156 hectares (down 19 hectares compared to the previous month). The average production cost reached 12,904 VND/kg (an increase of 881 VND/kg compared to the same period), the average selling price was 21,667 VND/kg, an increase of 2,167 VND/kg. The average profit reached 73 million VND/ha, an increase of 1 million VND/ha compared to the same period.

The total livestock herd of the province (including those sold) according to the reports of the districts is 209,075, of which 136,676 are pigs, 38,584 are cows, 3,383 are buffaloes; 9,080,000 are poultry.

Aquaculture production continued to maintain stable output thanks to the guaranteed water source and favorable weather. The farming area in April was 82 hectares (of which 19 hectares were pangasius). Since the beginning of the year, it has been 3,930 hectares, of which 1,172 hectares were pangasius. The total harvested aquatic output reached 184,837 tons, of which intensive pangasius output reached about 153,380 tons. In April, the selling price of commercial pangasius decreased by 500 - 700 VND/kg due to the decrease in export market demand and the impact of the US's preliminary announcement of corresponding tax rates on Vietnamese goods exported to the US, including seafood. For other types of seafood, the selling price was relatively stable.

Regarding the development of association models, collective economy and new rural construction, and OCOP product development, the province now has 153 association models with 7,605 members. Since the beginning of the year, 4 new cooperatives have been established, reaching 57.14% of the plan; bringing the total number of cooperatives in the province to 255.

Up to now, the whole province has 100% of communes meeting new rural standards (NTM), 58 communes meeting advanced NTM standards; 10 district-level units meeting NTM standards and completing the task of building NTM; completing dossiers for consideration and recognition of the first 6 model NTM communes of the province. Currently, the province continues to direct the completion of dossiers to request recognition of Thanh Binh district, Hong Ngu district meeting NTM standards in 2024 and Thap Muoi district, Cao Lanh district meeting advanced NTM district standards in 2024.

OCOP program, the province continues to connect and support entities to promote and introduce OCOP products at events and festivals inside and outside the province; deploy preparations for evaluating and classifying OCOP products in 2025...

In addition, effective agricultural production models continue to be replicated. For the Organic Agriculture Development Project (Seed to Table Organization, Japan), 10 production groups have been established with 33 participating households, with a total area of ​​5.77 hectares; of which 9 groups have been granted organic certification according to Vietnam PGS organic standards with an area of ​​5.69 hectares. The project to build a model of lotus production associated with ecotourism development according to the value chain with an area of ​​8.5 hectares/10 households, in My Hoa commune, Thap Muoi district, lotus is growing well. For the mango cultivation model with a harvest season that meets the conditions for safe production, it has initially brought high economic efficiency to gardeners, while the application of safe production measures has contributed to reducing environmental pollution, ensuring safety for workers and consumers. The area applied up to now is 8,505 hectares...
