On April 16, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van - Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee - requested the Department of Finance and the Department of Construction to develop a plan for transportation and public housing for officials from Kon Tum to Quang Ngai to work after the province's merger.
The Department of Education and Training calculates the size of schools and classrooms to ensure learning conditions for children of officials who follow their parents from Kon Tum to Quang Ngai.
Quang Ngai arranges transportation for officials after merger
To proactively implement Resolution No. 60 dated April 12 of the 13th Party Central Committee, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has a plan to transport cadres, civil servants and public employees from Kon Tum to Quang Ngai for work.
Quang Ngai City and Kon Tum City are 180km apart, but separated by mountainous terrain and limited traffic as Highway 24, the nearest road connecting the two provinces, is currently very small. Without suitable means of transportation, officials, civil servants, and public employees may have difficulty traveling, affecting their health, spirit, and work progress.
According to calculations, about 950 cadres (of which about 150 cadres are under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee) will move from Kon Tum to Quang Ngai to work after the province's merger.
Large number, shuttle arrangement ensures proactive schedule is set.
Quang Ngai has developed three options, including: option 1, arranging vehicles for daily operations; option 2, arranging vehicles for the beginning and end of the week; option 3, flexible operations on weekdays.
For 150 officials under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, official vehicles belonging to the managing agencies and units will be used for transportation according to state-prescribed position standards.
For the remaining 800 civil servants (only 70% of whom are expected to travel together), quality vehicles will be rented and pick up and drop off will be provided according to schedule.
Arrange public housing, ensure education
At the same time, Quang Ngai is also making a list of surplus public assets after the merger and other buildings that are eligible to be renovated and repaired into public housing. This is a task that must be done immediately, because it is related to the lives and welfare of cadres, civil servants and public employees, contributing to improving working spirit and internal cohesion.
Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van said that the Standing Committee of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee has concluded to assign the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee to direct the planning of transportation, official housing... for officials from Kon Tum to Quang Ngai to work after the province's merger.
In particular, Ms. Van noted taking care of the education of children who follow their parents.
"The Department of Construction and the Department of Finance must immediately determine which headquarters can provide accommodation for Kon Tum province officials. Report accurately to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee next week. If any headquarters need repairs or upgrades, they must be done and completed before the new province comes into operation.
The Department of Education and Training calculates the size of schools and classrooms so that children of Kon Tum officials can ensure their education when they follow their parents to Quang Ngai," Ms. Van directed.
