Organized voting and announced 50 outstanding events of Ho Chi Minh City

Kinhtedothi - Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a Plan to organize voting and announce 50 outstanding events and activities of the city towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Accordingly, the nominated events are from April 30, 1975 to present (before April 30, 2025). These are events that are generalized, highly symbolic, typical, have positive impacts, spread, and receive high consensus from the people; reflecting the typical characteristics of Ho Chi Minh City people.

At the same time, these events have had a positive impact on the development of the city, with typical historical, political and economic development values ​​over the past 50 years, not only of the city but also of the Southeast region and the whole country. From there, they contributed to arousing the aspirations of the people, the people of the city and the great national unity bloc in the cause of building and developing the city.

Ho Chi Minh City organized a vote and announced 50 outstanding events and activities of the city towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The general criteria are events, series of events, outstanding activities, works, achievements, movements that are generalized, highly symbolic, typical, have positive impacts, spread, and receive high consensus among the people; reflect typical characteristics of the people of the Southern region. In particular, the event has a scope of influence, positive impacts on the development of the city, inter-regional or nationwide; has typical value in terms of historical significance, politics, and socio -economic development of the city in particular, the Southeast region and the whole country in general.

In addition, the event received the consensus and support of all classes of people and organizations, as shown in the results of the consultation and official evaluation of agencies and organizations. The event period is from April 30, 1975 to before April 30, 2025.

According to the plan, the time for the city's departments, branches, and sectors; Thu Duc City People's Committee, districts, and press agencies to nominate is until December 10, 2024. The time for the Working Group to synthesize the nominated events is before December 15, 2024. The time for public voting is from January 10, 2025 to January 25, 2025. The time for the Council to vote is in February 2025.

 

Voting is conducted through the following steps and processes:

Step 1: Nominate events. City departments, branches, and sectors; Thu Duc City People's Committee, districts, and related units nominate outstanding events of the city in all fields.

Step 2: The Voting Council holds its first meeting. From the events nominated in step 1, the Support Team reviews and compiles the events and sends them to the Voting Council. Next, the Voting Council nominates and selects outstanding events to organize for public voting.

Step 3: The public introduces and votes. From the list and records of outstanding events compiled in step 2; the Voting Council organizes for the public to start voting for 50 typical events through the application (vote at least 1 event, maximum 50 events). The public can also nominate additional events with the same content as step 1, with a maximum of 50 events. If an event is nominated by the majority of the public (at least 30% of the total number of nominees), the Voting Council will consider including it in the voting events.

Step 4: The Voting Council meets for the second time. Based on the results of the public vote, the Voting Council meets to select 50 events.

Step 5: Create a documentary. Based on the results of step 4, Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) will write a script outline, commentary, and related content to complete the documentary about 50 outstanding events of the city (first draft).

Step 6: The voting board approves the documentary. The voting board reviews and requests revisions (if any). HTV completes the documentary according to the voting board's comments (second draft).

Step 7: Report to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee. The voting council reports to the competent authority for consideration and submits to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee. After the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee reviews, gives comments or requests for revisions (if any), HTV accepts and completes the documentary.
