COPI organization examines and cleans teeth and mouth for 750 children and people in Dien Ban

At Le Van Tam Secondary School and Huynh Thuc Khang Primary School (Dien Tien Commune, Dien Ban Town), the delegation organized dental check-ups, provided oral hygiene instructions, and provided free gifts to 500 students. The gifts included face towels, hand soap, toothpaste, nail clippers, hairbrushes, and a children's toy.

In Dien Hong commune, the delegation organized dental check-ups and personal hygiene instructions for 250 people, most of whom were in difficult circumstances or had little interest in regular dental check-ups.

According to the representative of the Quang Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, there are still many people in difficult circumstances in the province, especially the poor, who do not have access to good medical services. Therefore, mobilizing foreign non-governmental organizations, including COPI, to support medical examination and treatment is necessary and appropriate to the local situation.

“This is a very effective program because the delegation not only examines the teeth but also propagatesand educates to raise awareness about the importance of health, care and prevention of dental diseases for students and people through practical activities” – the representative of the Union of Friendship Organizations of the province said and informed that for many years, COPI has organized medical examinations and treatment and provided free medicine to the people of Quang Nam.

COPI (Children of Peace International – USA) operates in the field of supporting free medical examination and treatment, helping children in difficult circumstances. Since 1997, COPI has conducted many annual humanitarian medical examination and treatment trips in provinces and cities of Vietnam, including Quang Nam. On average, each trip, the support team examines about 1,000 people.

During this medical examination and treatment trip in Dien Ban town, the delegation had 14 members, including 7 dental and maxillofacial specialists.
