The bridges across the Co Co River, stretching from Han Gate (Da Nang City) to Dai Gate (Hoi An City, Quang Nam ), have contributed to the socio-economic development of the two localities.
The road and bridge project across Co Co River started construction on February 3, 2020 and was inaugurated on October 30, 2021, part of the Da Nang City traffic infrastructure improvement project with a total investment value of over 172 billion VND.
The starting point of the route is at the intersection of Tran Dai Nghia - Vo Chi Cong street with Hoang Minh Thang street; the end point is at the intersection of Vo Quy Huan street with Co Co riverside street in Tan Tra residential area (Hoa Hai ward, Ngu Hanh Son district).
The total length of the route is 1,163 m, the design speed is 50 km/h, the cross-section is 33 m wide with 6 lanes. Technical infrastructure items including drainage system, trees, water supply for irrigation, lighting are invested synchronously and completely along the entire route.
The project creates a main traffic axis, connecting the city center, international airport, newly formed residential areas in the southeast of the city (Hoa Xuan ecological urban area, FPT technology urban area...) with coastal tourist and resort areas and Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam province).
Bai Dai Bridge and Hoa Phuoc Bridge (Hoa Vang District) are two bridges belonging to the Southern Belt Road project of Da Nang City. The project has a total value of about 1,000 billion VND from ODA capital of the World Bank and counterpart capital of Da Nang City.
The project started in June 2012 and was inaugurated on May 19, 2014. The main part of the project is the 6.79km Nam Ky Khoi Nghia road with 6 lanes designed according to the standards of secondary urban roads, with a design speed of 70km/h. In the future, this area will be a training center associated with a university urban area, an innovation center, a software park, and at the same time, a regional medical center will be added.
Following the flow of the Co Co River, about 19.5 km long, through Quang Nam province, many bridges have been and are being built across the Co Co River, playing a role in shaping the landscape along the river and developing the economy and society.
Nguyen Duy Hieu Bridge is 242.4 m long, 20.5 m wide with 4 lanes, located on the border of Cam Ha commune (Hoi An city) and Dien Duong ward (Dien Ban town, Quang Nam province).
