(NLDO) – Businesses suddenly increased the buying price of gold rings, keeping the price of SJC gold bars unchanged, while the USD price at banks reached a new peak.
On the evening of November 13, SJC Company listed the buying price of SJC gold bars at VND80.5 million/tael and the selling price at VND84 million/tael, stable compared to the morning. The difference in the buying and selling price of gold continued to remain high at VND3.5 million/tael.
Compared to the peak of over 90 million VND/tael, the price of SJC gold bars has decreased by about 6 million VND/tael.
Notably, SJC Company suddenly raised the buying price of 99.99 gold rings by 200,000 VND/tael compared to the morning, keeping the selling price unchanged in the afternoon, at around 79.7 million VND/tael for buying, 82.2 million VND/tael for selling.
Compared to the historical peak, the price of gold rings has lost nearly 8 million VND/tael. Those who bought gold rings at the peak, if they sell now, will lose nearly ten million VND, because businesses have lowered the purchase price to only 79.7 million VND/tael.
Gold ring price increases again
The price of gold rings also has a difference of millions of dong between businesses. PNJ Company buys gold rings up to 80.8 million dong/tael, sells 82.4 million dong/tael. DOJI Group buys higher, 81.1 million dong/tael, sells 83.2 million dong/tael.
The price difference of gold rings is also maintained at a high level of 1.6 - 2.5 million VND/tael.
Domestic gold prices fluctuate quite closely with world prices. After a series of declines, world gold prices have recovered and are currently fluctuating around 2,610 USD/ounce. World gold prices are forecast to fall sharply below the 2,600 USD/ounce mark before possibly increasing again by the end of the year. Gold prices are also under downward pressure as the USD index increases, at times exceeding 106 points during the session.
The USD index is currently trading at 105.8 points.
The USD on the international market has increased to its highest level in the past 7 months, affecting the domestic exchange rate. The USD price at commercial banks today also surpassed the peak in April. Vietcombank traded USD at 25,180 VND/USD for buying and 25,502 VND/USD for selling, a sharp increase of more than 30 VND/USD compared to the previous day.
The USD price at commercial banks has increased rapidly since the beginning of October. Since the beginning of the year, the USD price at banks has increased by more than 4%.
