Meeting to discuss the pilot operation of the new commune-level People's Council

On the morning of June 18, the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial People's Council held the June 2025 meeting (3rd time) to review and decide on matters under its authority. Vice Chairmen of the An Giang Provincial People's Council Do Tan Kiet and Dinh Thi Viet Huynh chaired the meeting.

Delegates listened to the implementation of Plan 248-KH/TU, dated June 14, 2025 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on organizing the trial operation of Party, government and Fatherland Front agencies at the commune level; Official Dispatch 12515/BTCTU, dated June 15, 2025 of the Provincial Party Organizing Committee on personnel work; appointment of Group Leaders, Deputy Group Leaders, and Provincial People's Council delegates in the delegation groups.

The meeting spent time on comments and reviewing the implementation of documents; proposing adjustments and guidance on some contents of the first session of the People's Council at the commune level; advising the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council to issue relevant documents and resolutions; assigning the Standing Committee of the People's Council and leaders of the Provincial People's Council committees to attend the trial operation session at the commune level in 11 districts, towns and cities. Thereby, grasping the situation at the commune level, synthesizing and reporting to the Provincial Party Committee.

On June 22, 54 new communes and wards will conduct a trial run of 5 meetings, including the first session of the People's Council. The main contents of the session include: Announcing the number and list of People's Council delegates after the arrangement; announcing resolutions of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council on appointing personnel to hold the positions of chairman, vice chairman, and heads of committees of the new commune-level People's Council; chairman, vice chairman, and member of the People's Committee of the new commune; resolutions of the Standing Committee of the new commune-level People's Council on appointing members of the People's Committee of the new commune, approving the vice head of the committee of the new commune-level People's Council; deciding on the regular session of the new commune-level People's Council in 2025...
