Sacombank (stock code: STB), a commercial joint-stock bank, has just passed a resolution approving the resignation of Ms. Nguyen Duc Thach Diem from her position as a member of the Board of Directors and her cessation of all activities on the Board of Directors, effective June 17th.
In addition, the Board of Directors also decided to authorize the Chairman of the Board to allocate funds from the bank's reward fund to reward Ms. Diem, in recognition of her contributions during her time as General Director.
The resignation letter will be submitted to the nearest General Meeting of Shareholders to consider the dismissal of the position of member of the Board of Directors according to regulations.
Previously, on May 22nd, the Board of Directors approved the decision to relieve Ms. Nguyen Duc Thach Diem from her position as General Director and simultaneously appointed Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhung as Acting General Director of Sacombank.

Ms. Diem also shared a farewell letter to the Board of Directors, management staff, and all employees, officially saying goodbye after nearly 8 years as CEO of the bank.
In the letter, Ms. Diem called it "a farewell" to conclude a nearly decade-long journey filled with challenges but also significant milestones at the bank. "I have lived, dared to act, and dedicated myself wholeheartedly to the restructuring, recovery, and strong resurgence of Sacombank," she shared.
Ms. Nguyen Duc Thach Diem, born in 1973, is introduced as a PhD in Finance - Banking, with more than 18 years of experience in the field of economics - finance - banking. Joining Sacombank since 2002, she has held many positions in functional departments, branches and regions, was appointed Deputy General Director in 2014 and Acting General Director in July 2017.
During her tenure as CEO, she was involved in the restructuring of Sacombank and addressing outstanding issues following the merger.
Despite holding a high-ranking executive position for many years, Ms. Diem only owns a modest amount of STB shares. According to the 2024 corporate governance report, she currently holds 76,320 shares, equivalent to over 3.5 billion VND at the current market price. This is considered a low personal ownership level compared to many other bank leaders in the same industry.
