At 7:30 p.m. on May 29, the world gold price was trading at 3,314 USD/ounce, a sharp increase of about 55 USD/ounce (equivalent to about 1.7 million VND/tael) compared to the morning.
Gold prices on the international market today unexpectedly "turned around" at the end of the day, regaining the 3,300 USD/ounce zone and is far from this mark. Previously, some investors predicted that gold prices, after breaking through the psychological 3,300 USD/ounce mark, could continue to fall sharply to the 3,200 USD/ounce zone.
Precious metals on the international market increased again despite information that the tariff tensions between the US and other countries are easing, with no new developments.
SJC gold bar price increased again at the end of the day
The latest move on tariffs was a US court ruling on May 28 blocking President Donald Trump’s plan to impose reciprocal tariffs, saying he had exceeded his authority. Immediately after the ruling, the Trump administration filed an appeal, questioning the court’s authority.
According to analysts, investors are concerned about more complicated developments from tariff tensions, so they continue to seek gold as a safe haven, especially when the price of gold falls below the 3,300 USD/ounce mark.
The recovery of world gold prices also pulled domestic gold prices up again at the end of the day.
As of the end of today, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by businesses at around 115.5 million VND/tael for buying and 118 million VND/tael for selling, up about 800,000 VND per tael compared to this morning.
Similarly, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold also recovered to 110.3 million VND/tael for buying and 113.3 million VND/tael for selling, up 300,000 VND per tael compared to the morning.
Domestic gold prices fluctuated strongly today, after plunging in the morning following "hot" instructions on mechanisms and policies to effectively manage the gold market in the coming time; then suddenly recovering in the afternoon following the upward trend of world prices.
Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 104.7 million VND/tael.
