Russian forces have carried out several offensive operations and improved their tactical positions in the Kupyansk region, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said on Wednesday, TASS reported. “In the direction of Kupyansk, the strike teams of the Western battle group have carried out several offensive operations in the assigned area of responsibility and improved their tactical positions,” the spokesman said.

In this direction, Russian forces repelled four attacks and killed about 170 Ukrainian soldiers in the past 24 hours, Konashenkov said. Five armored fighting vehicles, three pickup trucks, an American-made M777 artillery system and a D-20 howitzer of Kiev forces were destroyed.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces with the support of aircraft, artillery and heavy flamethrowers have repelled four attacks by assault groups of the 67th Mechanized Brigade, 68th Brigade, 25th Airborne Brigade and 95th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian army near Sinkovka in the Kharkov region, Novoyegorovka and Novosylovskoye in the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic.

Ukrainian forces are pushing forward on multiple fronts but are facing fierce resistance from the Russian military.

In the Krasny Liman direction, Russian forces also killed about 60 Ukrainian soldiers over the past day. “In the Krasny Liman direction, units of the Central Battle Group, using air strikes, artillery and heavy flamethrowers, repelled two attacks by assault groups of the 21st Mechanized Brigade and the 5th National Guard Brigade near the Yampolovka settlement of the Donetsk People’s Republic and Chervonaya Dibrova of the Lugansk People’s Republic,” Konashenkov said.

Ukrainian losses in this direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 60 Ukrainian soldiers, 2 armored fighting vehicles, 2 pickup trucks and a D-30 howitzer.

Russian forces also repelled three Ukrainian attacks in the Donetsk region over the past day. In this direction, units of the Russian southern battle group carried out air and artillery strikes to repel three attacks by Ukrainian forces near the Nevelskoye, Mayorsk and Kurdyumovka settlements of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. The losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to 180 people, 3 armored fighting vehicles, 3 motorized vehicles, an Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer, a Gvozdika motorized artillery system, a D-20 self-propelled howitzer and a D-30 self-propelled howitzer.

In many other areas, Russian forces also stepped up attacks and demonstrated dominance over Ukrainian forces.

The spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense also revealed that in the past 24 hours, combat/tactical and military aircraft, missile troops and artillery of Russian groups of forces have caused damage to Ukrainian personnel and military equipment in 143 areas.

Previously, on August 22, the AVP website also reported on the precise attack of the Russian Ka-52 helicopter in the south of Donetsk. The publicly released video shows the moment when a Ukrainian armored combat vehicle was destroyed by a guided missile launched from a Ka-52 helicopter of the Russian Armed Forces. The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed this information.

A source from the Russian Defense Ministry added that the Ka-52 helicopter has proven its high efficiency in combat and its accurate strikes confirm the professionalism and high level of training of its pilots.
