On the afternoon of February 5, at the Thai Hoc house, part of the special national relic of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam (Dong Da district, Hanoi ), the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam held the opening ceremony of the exhibition "The Origin of Daoism".
More than 300 documents and artifacts divided into four main contents are introduced in historical order to recreate the life and contributions of the kings: Ly Thanh Tong, Ly Nhan Tong, Le Thanh Tong; famous people who contributed to the development of the country's education such as: Teacher Chu Van An, Queen Mother Y Lan, famous scholars Le Van Thinh, Than Nhan Trung, Luong The Vinh... The displayed contents highlight the tradition of respecting talented people, the policies to encourage learning of our country during the feudal period.
Our country’s philosophy is closely linked to the birth and development of the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam – the first university of our country. Therefore, the exhibition of famous people is also linked in content with the exhibition “Quoc Tu Giam – the first National University” into a whole, helping the public better understand the history of the birth and development of the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam relic site and the results of the Vietnamese imperialeducation system during the monarchy.
In addition, through documents and artifacts related to famous people, the exhibition will recreate a space of cultural heritage of famous people to better serve the needs of visitors to learn about their contributions to education, nurturing talents and lessons that are still valuable for today's social life.
At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Do Dinh Hong emphasized: “Drinking water and remembering its source, eating fruit and remembering the person who planted the tree are some of the fine traditions of our nation, showing gratitude to those who have built achievements for future generations. The exhibition is an opportunity to express gratitude and honor the contributions of our predecessors and famous people who laid the foundation for the development of national education, creating a generation of intellectuals in Vietnamese society during the monarchy period.”
The exhibition has the professional assistance of Vietnamese scientists and experts from the French Republic. Therefore, the information conveyed is contemporary, yet still solemn. The exhibition contents are aimed at attracting visitors, especially young people, through interactive forms of expression.
