Through activities to spread the meaning of Vietnamese Family Day, honor the traditional values ​​of Vietnamese families, contribute to raising people's awareness and responsibility in building a prosperous, happy and progressive family.

Many activities in response to Vietnamese Family Day

Since the beginning of June, provincial and local departments and branches have organized many activities in response to Vietnam Family Day, June 28. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH,TT&DL) - as the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee for the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" of the province has directed its affiliated units to hang banners and billboards on main roads with the messages "Happy families are the foundation of a prosperous nation"; "Family is the place to nurture and transmit good cultural values"... to propagate to people the meaning of Vietnam Family Day, June 28 and call on people to respond. At the same time, the Department of Culture and Information of districts and cities has been instructed to coordinate with local authorities to hang banners and billboards in response to Vietnam Family Day, June 28; Organize the "Sustainable Family Development" Club in hamlets and villages, integrating propaganda for people about the role and position of the family in building and forming human personality; mobilize people to maintain family happiness, cultural behavior in the family, selectively absorb new cultural values ​​to build a prosperous, happy and sustainable family. Along with that, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organizes the 2024 Dong Thap Province Outstanding Family Competition with the participation of 60 outstanding families in the province.

In addition, in localities in the province, meetings were held to honor exemplary families at the commune, ward, town, district and city levels. Meetings to honor exemplary families in the province took place enthusiastically. During the meetings, in addition to honoring and rewarding exemplary families, representatives of exemplary families shared and exchanged experiences in raising children and building happy families. Some localities combined organizing folk games for families to participate in, creating a joyful atmosphere for the meeting day. For meetings at the district and city levels, localities integrated the organization of exemplary family competitions to create a playground for families to exchange. In Hong Ngu City, in response to Vietnam Family Day on June 28, 7 communes and wards of the city held meetings to honor and present Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune and ward to 200 exemplary cultural families. Hong Ngu City organized the 2024 Hong Ngu City Outstanding Families Contest on June 20. The contest attracted 35 families to compete. In Lap Vo district, information and propaganda about Vietnam Family Day on June 28 were enhanced; meetings were held to honor outstanding families at the commune, town and district levels...

The highlight of the activities to celebrate Vietnam Family Day 2024 is the meeting to honor outstanding families at the provincial level organized by the Steering Committee of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" of the province. The meeting was held on June 28, 2024, with 150 families attending the meeting, who are outstanding cultural families in the province with achievements in the following fields: Families with elderly people who are shining examples for their children and grandchildren to follow; overcoming difficulties, taking care of and raising their children and grandchildren to study well; Participate and actively contribute to social activities such as: doing good business , participating in the Association, starting a business, doing community tourism... 150 families were commended and received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life, family work, preventing and combating domestic violence in the province in the period of 2021 - 2023. This is a meaningful activity held periodically every 3 years. At the same time, it is also a typical family festival to honor the traditional values ​​of the family, thereby encouraging the spirit of typical families.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thao and Mrs. Le Thi Muoi Hai (living in Hamlet 4, Tan Nghia Commune, Cao Lanh District) always care for and share family work together.

Spread good values

Mr. Nguyen Van Thao (born in 1966) and Ms. Le Thi Muoi Hai (born in 1964) residing in Hamlet 4, Tan Nghia Commune, Cao Lanh District are among the families that were recognized and rewarded at the 2024 Dong Thap Province Outstanding Families Meeting on June 28. This award is an honor and motivation for Mr. Thao's family to continue to maintain the title of Outstanding Cultural Family.

Mr. Thao and Mrs. Hai got married in 1984 and had 3 children together. They started their lives as farmers and hired battery chargers. Initially, the family faced many difficulties, but with their will and determination, Mr. Thao and his wife overcame difficulties, rose up in life and raised 3 children to be successful. Currently, Mr. Thao actively contributes to social security activities in the locality. Mr. Nguyen Van Thao shared: “The lucky thing about my family is that we inherited the moral foundation and family traditions from our grandparents and parents. That is the “capital” for family members to preserve and prepare their children for life. In life, my family members always treat each other equally and love each other, that is the secret to keeping the family happy. I will continue to raise and educate my children and grandchildren, maintain family happiness and participate in social security activities to contribute to the development of the locality”.

Similarly, the family of Mr. Vo Ngoc Nghiep (born in 1960) and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Sau (born in 1960) residing in Tinh Long hamlet, Tinh Thoi commune, Cao Lanh city - the family was commended and rewarded at the meeting of typical families of Dong Thap province in 2024. Mr. Nghiep and his wife are teachers, so they are always aware of teaching their children to study, upholding the tradition of exemplary parents, filial children, always promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" and studying and following the cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese people. Thanks to that, Mr. Nghiep's family is always happy, his children are successful in their studies. For many years, his family has been recognized as a cultural family.

Mr. Le Quang Bieu - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: "Through activities responding to Vietnam Family Day on June 28, we contribute to raising awareness of all levels, sectors and people about the role and position of family work and prevention and control of domestic violence. Propagating, disseminating and educating the law on the history and significance of Vietnam Family Day, mobilizing the whole society to join hands in preventing and controlling domestic violence. In particular, 150 exemplary families were awarded at this provincial-level meeting to honor exemplary families, who are typical flowers, contributing to spreading the good values ​​of Vietnamese families in the homeland of the Land of Pink Lotus".

In conjunction with activities in response to Vietnam Family Day on June 28, in June 2024, in response to the National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control with the theme "Ending Violence, Fostering Love"; localities in the province will step up propaganda and mobilization to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and the whole society on domestic violence prevention and control; integrate into meetings, propaganda activities, provide legal knowledge on domestic violence prevention and control, contributing to raising people's awareness in domestic violence prevention and control.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Quang Bieu added: "Family is the cell of society", to effectively carry out family work and prevent and combat domestic violence in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continues to coordinate with sectors and localities to effectively carry out propaganda work on preventing and combating domestic violence; deploy the implementation of the Code of Conduct in Families; maintain and improve the effectiveness of the "Sustainable Family Development" Clubs; provide professional training for staff working in family work in the locality to effectively carry out family work in the province.
