General Secretary To Lam delivered a New Year's greeting speech at the "Spring in the Homeland 2025" program.

On the afternoon of January 19th, at the Party Central Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received a delegation of 100 exemplary overseas Vietnamese participating in the "Spring in the Homeland 2025" program organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs .

Also attending the reception were Party Central Committee Secretary and Chief of the Central Office Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Party Central Committee member and Standing Deputy Head of the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Department Nguyen Manh Cuong; Assistant to the General Secretary To An Xo; and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Le Thi Thu Hang.

The General Secretary warmly welcomed the delegation of exemplary overseas Vietnamese, representing nearly 1,000 overseas Vietnamese from more than 40 countries and territories, attending the "Spring in the Homeland 2025" program; highly appreciated the affection and contributions of overseas Vietnamese to their homeland; expressed pride in seeing the overseas Vietnamese community developing strongly in both quantity and quality, with overseas Vietnamese business associations, expert associations, and intellectual associations regularly connecting with the country, forming a widespread network linking Vietnamese people both at home and abroad.

Sharing the country's situation with the delegation of exemplary overseas Vietnamese, the General Secretary affirmed that in 2024, despite many difficulties and challenges, the country achieved important goals in the fields of socio-economic development, national defense, security, and foreign affairs. Outstanding achievements include economic growth and efforts to address social welfare issues.

Institutional breakthroughs, human resource development, and infrastructure development have been prioritized. Foreign relations continue to be a bright spot with many outstanding results. The country's international standing and prestige are constantly being enhanced.

Party building and strengthening the political system continue to be intensified. The entire political system is also vigorously implementing the review of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, streamlining the organizational structure of the political system to operate efficiently, effectively, and efficiently, meeting the development requirements of the country in the new era.

Regarding the tasks for national development in the coming period, the General Secretary emphasized that the ultimate goal of Vietnam's era of progress is a prosperous people, a strong nation, a socialist society, and the ability to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world's leading powers.

All one hundred million Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Party, are united in purpose and effort, working together to maximize opportunities and advantages, overcome risks and challenges, and lead the country to comprehensive and strong development.

Besides domestic efforts, the Party and State highly appreciate the valuable contributions of the Vietnamese community around the world to the current development of the country.

Recently, the Politburo issued Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Accordingly, the Resolution outlined major policies for attracting talent and developing a network of experts and scientists, both domestic and international, to contribute their dedication and intellect to key programs and projects serving the country's development.

Speaking at the meeting, the representative of the exemplary overseas Vietnamese expressed their honor at being received by General Secretary To Lam, and sincerely thanked the Party, the State, and the General Secretary personally for their attention to the work related to overseas Vietnamese in general and the overseas Vietnamese attending the "Spring in the Homeland 2025" program in particular.

Overseas Vietnamese delegates affirmed their deep belief in the future development of the country and expressed their desire to actively participate in contributing to the realization of the nation's development aspirations in the new era, the era of national progress.

Representatives of the overseas Vietnamese community also offered many suggestions and ideas for achieving the country's development goals in the coming period.

The reception took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere as the country prepared to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025 and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025).
