Summary of the emulation movement "Old age - bright example", period 2020

Dien Bien TV - On the morning of April 23, the Provincial Association of the Elderly held a conference to summarize the emulation movement "Old age - bright example" in Dien Bien province, period 2020 - 2025. Attending the conference were comrade Lo Van Phuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrade Lo Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In the period of 2020 - 2025, the elderly in Dien Bien have promoted the emulation movement "Old age - bright example". Currently, the whole province has more than 16,100 elderly people still participating in labor production and economic development. Of which, more than 3,600 elderly people have achieved the title of good economic performers at all levels, nearly 1,240 elderly people are farm owners, business owners; more than 3,400 elderly officials and members participate in the work of the Party, government, Fatherland Front and mass organizations.

Every year, more than 90% of the elderly member families achieve the title of "Family of Learning", many member families are recognized with the title of "Exemplary grandparents and parents, loyal children, and filial grandchildren".

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lo Van Cuong awarded certificates and commemorative medals of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association to individuals.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Lo Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the positive contributions of the elderly in social life. At the same time, he requested: The Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations of the province, Party committees and local authorities continue to pay attention to leading and directing the effective resolution of policies for the elderly; strengthen activities to care for the material and spiritual life of the elderly, creating favorable conditions for the elderly to live happily, healthily and usefully.

The Elderly Association at all levels continues to innovate the content and methods of operation, build a clean and strong association; promote the role of the elderly, to be worthy of the 18 golden words awarded by the Party Central Committee "The older the age, the higher the ambition, set a shining example for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland".

The Chairman of the Provincial Elderly Association awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Old age, bright example" for the period 2020 - 2025.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly awarded the Medal for the cause of caring for the elderly to 5 individuals; the Provincial People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to 1 collective; the Provincial Association of the Elderly awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 20 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Old age - bright example" for the period 2020 - 2025./.
