Attending the conference were representatives of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and related agencies, units and enterprises of the 5 cities.
Accordingly, the tourism development cooperation process will be implemented between Buon Ma Thuot City (Dak Lak Province) and the cities of Pleiku (Gia Lai Province), Kon Tum (Kon Tum Province), Gia Nghia (Dak Nong Province) and Tuy Hoa (Phu Yen Province) in the period of 2022-2025.

At the conference, delegates visited and experienced 10 booths with more than 50 OCOP products and typical specialties of the localities. At the same time, they passed a summary report on the tourism development cooperation process in the 3-year period.
The cities have actively participated in association activities, organized delegations to exchange, visit, experience and attend typical events and festivals such as: Tuy Hoa-Pleiku Tourism Connection Festival in Pleiku City; Festival to promote and connect tourism of Central Highlands cities with Tuy Hoa City in Phu Yen Province; Festival to promote and connect tourism in Kon Tum City. In addition, they have actively coordinated to promote, introduce and advertise the land, culture, and tourism potential of the provinces, contributing to attracting investors, creating value-added chains, and building each city's own tourism brand.

Thanks to close coordination, tourism activities in localities have developed significantly, with the number of tourists and revenue growing impressively every year. Pleiku City alone welcomed nearly 248,000 visitors in 2021, with revenue reaching about 136 billion VND. By 2024, the number of visitors will triple, reaching over 1 million, with revenue of more than 778 billion VND.
At the conference, delegates also focused on discussing and proposing solutions to continue stimulating demand and developing local tourism, such as: assessing the situation and results of coordination in implementing tourism promotion and connection programs between Pleiku City and localities; strengthening links between travel companies, businesses and tourist destinations; promoting trade promotion activities for OCOP products and typical products of localities; building an eco-tourism urban area associated with landscapes, trees and flowers in Gia Nghia City; sharing experiences in building and developing agricultural tourism models associated with experiential education...

The implementation of the tourism development cooperation program between the Central Highlands cities and Tuy Hoa City in the past 3 years has brought about many important results, contributing to creating a solid foundation for the development of the tourism industry and local economy.
From this success, the program will continue to be a premise for developing tourism opportunities in the region, with the strong direction of leaders at all levels, close coordination between management agencies, businesses and the community, to bring Pleiku tourism to a new level.
