Summary and award ceremony of the 2nd "Steps on the Clouds" Mountain Climbing Competition to conquer Ta Xua peak in 2025

CTTĐT - On the evening of April 13, the People's Committee of Tram Tau district coordinated with the Vietnam Law Newspaper and Hung Viet Trading and Tourism Company Limited to organize the summary and award ceremony of the 2nd "Steps on the Clouds" prize to conquer Ta Xua peak in 2025.

The second “Steps on the Clouds” mountain climbing competition gathered 100 athletes who are journalists and reporters from central and local press agencies, conquering a 12km mountain climbing distance. The starting point is at the foot of the mountain (in Ban Cong commune, Tram Tau district) and the destination is Ta Xua peak, at an altitude of 2,865m above sea level, this is one of the highest peaks in Vietnam. Ta Xua mountain is located in the south of Hoang Lien Son range, bordering Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province and Bac Yen district, Son La province.

Immediately after the starting command of the Organizing Committee, the athletes quickly set out to conquer Ta Xua mountain peak. On the journey to conquer Ta Xua mountain peak, the athletes experienced the feeling of sublimation when conquering the steep paths, crossing the ancient Rhododendron forest covered with moss. One of the highlights of the journey is the "Dragon's Back" - a narrow and long mountain range, hidden in the sea of clouds like a giant dragon's back. This will be a challenging stretch of road, requiring athletes to have courage and solid climbing skills. However, when overcoming this stretch of road, the athletes will enjoy an extremely impressive scene with white clouds floating, covering the valleys below, creating a magical and majestic natural picture.

After 2 hours and 15 minutes, athlete Trinh Hoang Yen - Yen Bai Provincial Journalists Association successfully reached the 2,865m milestone and became the first prize winner in the men's category of the competition. The first prize for women belonged to athlete Tran Thu Trang - Vietnam News Agency, with a time of 3 hours.

According to comrade Khang A Chua - Vice Chairman of Tram Tau District People's Committee, during the organization of the tournament, the Organizing Committee ensured security, safety and professional conditions according to the regulations for athletes and forces participating in the tournament. With the companionship, sharing, attention and support in the organization of the provincial leaders, district leaders, comrades in the Editorial Board of Vietnam Law Newspaper, businesses, travel agencies, media agencies, newspapers and the enthusiastic cooperation of the athletes, the 2nd "Steps on the Clouds" Mountain Climbing Tournament to conquer Ta Xua peak was a great success. In particular, the athlete's finish time of 2 hours and 15 minutes is a record because no one has ever conquered Ta Xua peak with such an impressive time.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Vu Le Chung Anh - Chairman of Tram Tau District People's Committee sincerely thanked Vietnam Law Newspaper and Hung Viet Trading and Tourism Company Limited for organizing the Mountain Climbing Tournament in Tram Tau District, thereby contributing to promoting the tourism potential of Tram Tau District; at the same time contributing to creating jobs and increasing income for local people.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Law Newspaper Tran Ngoc Ha affirmed that the tournament will continue to be organized for the third time and hopes to continue receiving the attention and support of sponsors and the enthusiastic participation of athletes who are reporters from central and local press agencies.

The “Steps in the Clouds” mountain climbing competition is an opportunity for the beautiful images and unique tourist attractions of Tram Tau through the feelings of athletes and journalists to reach more domestic and foreign tourists, and also to promote adventure tourism based on exploiting the available natural advantages of the locality. From there, attract organizations, businesses and individuals to invest and participate in service and tourism business activities to make Tram Tau an attractive tourist destination with the brand name “Tram Tau, warm springs, vast sea of clouds”.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded 15 bicycles to 15 students with difficult circumstances and high academic achievements in Tram Tau district.

Within the framework of the Tournament, the Organizing Committee also presented water purifiers worth more than 100 million VND and textbooks, notebooks, and school supplies to students at the Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities in Xa Ho Commune, Tram Tau District.
