Data from the report of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and Hyundai Thanh Cong Joint Venture (TC Motor) shows that the Vietnamese automobile market in January 2024 decreased quite sharply compared to December 2023. In particular, the top best-selling cars in the market have fluctuated a lot compared to the last month of 2023.

Xpander's sales in January 2024 were 1,285 vehicles, down 54% compared to December 2023. However, this result was still enough for the best-selling Mitsubishi Xpander to lead the top 10 best-selling cars in Vietnam , and also lead the MPV segment.

Following Xpander is the "pickup king" Ford Ranger with 1,143 vehicles delivered to customers. This number decreased by 40% compared to December 2023. However, the number achieved in the difficult context of the market also helped the pickup model rise 3 places in the rankings.

The Hyundai Accent sedan model achieved sales of 915 vehicles in January 2024, down 66% compared to December 2023. However, this result still helped Accent maintain its 3rd position in the rankings.

In January, Mazda CX-5 sold 807 vehicles, down 60% compared to the previous month. However, Mazda CX-5's ranking remained unchanged compared to the last month of 2023.

The Honda B-size crossover ranked 5th with 801 units sold last month. This is one of the rare times the Honda HR-V has made it to this list. In this segment, the HR-V often has lower sales than its competitors due to its high price and difficulty in reaching customers.

Last month, Everest's sales reached 785 units, down nearly 700 units compared to December 2023 (1,484 units). Ford Everest launched an upgraded version in July 2022 and is being sold in 5 versions, priced from 1.099-1.499 billion VND.

According to VAMA's report, last January, Kia Sonet sold 504 cars, down 644 cars compared to the previous month. Sonet was first introduced to Vietnamese users at the end of 2021. Currently, the car is distributed as a domestically assembled car with 3 versions including Deluxe, Luxury and Premium.

Toyota Vios sold 653 cars in January 2024. Similar to other models, Vios sales also decreased sharply, 79% less than the previous month. Currently, Toyota Vios 2023 has 3 versions in Vietnam with prices of E MT.

Meanwhile, in last place is the B-class sedan - Honda City with sales of 482 vehicles, down more than 1,000 vehicles compared to the last month of 2023. Honda City in Vietnam is currently still the version launched in 2021.
